Completion Rate: Minimum 66.66% successful completion rate of all credit hours attempted 

Maximum Hours: The maximum time frame a student may receive financial aid may not exceed 150% of the published length of their degree program. 

If you do not have a plan on file or if it's off-track, it's recommended to meet with your advisor to update your plan first. Once updated you can register on your own.

For your PIN to be released, you must have active on-track plan on file or will need to meet with your Assigned advisor to receive your PIN .

Co-Requisite: A course that has to be taken at the same time as another course.

Course Closed: Course max limit has been met.

Waitlist: Course max limit has been met, but if the waitlist is open you can join; this does not guarantee registration. If the waitlist if full, you will receive an error message

Reserved: Course is reserved priority registration for active military, veterans and dependents. You can still request to register via alamo.edu/reserve

Cohort/Honors: Course is reserved for either a specific cohort group or is designated as an Honors course

Term: Error message will appear if the wrong term is selected for registration

Max Amount of Hours: Your max amount of hours have been met for the semester.

Hybrid Class: Lecture/lab class meets once/twice a week in person and the rest of class is delivered online asynchronous.

Online: Lecture/lab class is delivered fully online asynchronous - no designated class time.

Part-Time: Taking 6 credit hours in a semester/term across the colleges. Some grants, loans, or scholarships may require at least part-time student status. Part-Time students can still qualify for financial aid; however, they may not receive the maximum amount that they are eligible for.

Full-Time: Taking 12 or more credit hours in a semester/term across the colleges. Some grants, loans, or scholarships may require full-time student status.

You must attend classes on the first day or contact your instructor regarding the absence within the first day or you will be dropped by your instructor.

For fully online courses, an attendance verification activity is assigned and must be completed by the 3rd class day.

Start-II: Courses are 14-weeks long

Flex Courses: Courses are 8 weeks long. Flex I constitutes the first eight weeks of the semester. Flex II constitutes the second eight weeks of the semester.

Maymester: Three week session offered between the Spring and first Summer session. A full-time student is enrolled in 3-4 semester hours.

Wintermester: Three week session offered between the end of Fall and Spring session. A full-time student is enrolled in 3-4 semester hours.

This is designed to support your transition to college by focusing on academic, career, and personal goals.

A hold will appear on your account if this course is not completed; hold will appear as SDEV advising hold.

Your Student ID also gives you access to the VIA U-Pass, which provides students with unlimited VIA rides during the semester.

Please note that in order to receive your student ID, you must have payment on file either financial aid or enrollment in a payment plan.

Check-in cutoff times are 30 minutes to an hour of closing time, depending on traffic and advisor availability.

If you have non-related advising holds, you will need to get those taken care of before you can meet with advising as you will be unable to register until the hold is cleared.

2. ITS will verify student eligibility.

3. Pickup appointment will be scheduled.

4. ITS will provide a brief overview of the equipment, share helpful resources, and address any questions the student might have.

   
   

What are the eligibility requirements for loaner equipment?

• Must be enrolled in the current term and provide two forms of identification (student ID and state ID)

• Must be PAC home student

• Equipment is loaned on a term-by-term basis and must be returned at the end of term

  
  

Where can I pick up requested equipment?

• All loaner laptops will be available for pickup in the Academic Learning Studio in the Ozuna Library and Learning Center, Room 150.

Supporting Documents: After submitting your appeal via ACES, you must submit any documentation that will support and prove the circumstances that occurred which caused you to not maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

You will have 7 days to submit any documentation to the financial aid office through ACES or in person at your Financial Aid office.

Appeal Processing Timeline

Processing: The review time of a SAP appeal can take 3-6 weeks during peak processing periods. Appeals are reviewed according to the date they are received and cannot be expedited. 

Decisions: There is no guarantee your appeal will be approved and all decisions made are final. A message will be sent to your ACES financial aid portal once an approval or denial has been made. If approved, SAP appeals allow financial aid eligibility to be renewed.

Students who are resuspended, or who's appeal is denied, may submit a new appeal during the next scheduled appeal period.

The free credits can be applied to any Summer 2025 semester term and must be used for courses that are part of your degree plan or certificate program. After all other financial aid resources have been applied, SMP credits will automatically be applied to eligible students' accounts.

Keep in mind that there are policies that can affect you when withdrawing, please see below: 

• 3PEAT: Third attempt tuition charge. Due to state legislation, the Alamo Colleges District is no longer reimbursed by the state for courses taken by students who have attempted the same course three or more times previously (which includes courses taken that results in a grade of "W"). Therefore, the tuition for such a "three-peat" course will be the current cost for out of state tuition. 

• Six Drop Rule: Students are limited to a total of six (6) course drops during their undergraduate career, including a course(s) dropped at another institution. A dropped course is defined as a course in which student has enrolled for credit but did not complete. Students with a total of six (6) drops may not drop the seventh course or any additional courses and will be awarded the grade earned at the end of the semester.

Students must pay the costs of their Wintermester tuition and fees up front by the designated payment due date, December 10, 2026 to avoid being dropped for non-payment.

Wintermester is a 3-week semester and the max allotted registration hours for this term is 3 credit hours/one course.

If you are wanting to take more than one course, you would need to submit a petition for course overload, form can be found here: PETITION FOR COURSE OVERLOAD  

• Petitioning does NOT guarantee you will be allowed to take more than one course, but you will need to submit that form and wait for a decision. 

• You will be notified via your aces email of the petition outcome.
