In page 1 They show Eckels waving a check of $10,000 and asks the man behind the desk that if they grantee that they will comeback alive. This shows that he is eager and this characterization is indirect. when he waves the check of money.
Travis is someone that follows the rules and he shows this through out the whole story by being the guide to the hunters and also since his job is very important because it can change the whole world.

Conflicts

A conflict in the story is Human vs. Nature when Eckels fights the T.rex.
Another conflict is Human vs. Society because Eckels and other people don`t like the candidate for presidents that`s about to become president.
Another one is Humn vs. Supernatural because Eckels messes with the past by accidentally killing a butterfly causing an effect on the future.
Some Imagery in the story is in page 1 "Warm phlegm gathered in Eckels' throat;he swallows and pushes it down." This tells us that Eckels is nervous that he is going back in time to hunt probably the most famous dinosaur. Another imagery is also in page 1 " the muscles around his mouth formed a smile as he put his hand slowly out upon the air, and in hand wave a check for $10,000 to the man behind desk" this shows that Eckels is also nervous that he might not come back alive.
Another literary element in this story is Foreshadowing for example in page 1 when Eckels asks the man behind the desk that if he would be coming back alive, that gave us a hint that something bad was gonna happen or that someone was going to die. In page's 3 and 4 Travis Starts talking about the Butterfly effect (when you change something in the past and it affects the future) This hints us that someone will do something to somehow change the future.

Another literary element in this story is Symbolism for example in page 5 when Travis talks about how some of the dinosaurs have a red paint on them that allows you to hunt them. Another example of symbolism is how they used the sound of thunder at the end of the story to symbolize a gun shot.

Possible Themes

A possible Theme I could think of is Always follow the rules because they are there for a reason I thought of this theme because in the story Eckels leaves the Trail he was supposed to be on the whole time and accedentally steps on a butterfly then causing a change in the future/present.

Another Theme I could think of is Don't mess with the past because you never know what affectes what I thought of this theme because Eckels had messed with the past and ultimately changed his original present time.

And the last theme I could think of is Your actions have punishments I thought of this theme because Eckels had to face a punishment for his action of killing the butterfly.
