What I learned in the second week is about the tourism potential of a country based on its surroundings and place. In addition, I also learned about the GIS geography system. In my opinion, it is one of the systems that I saw for the first time, and I would like to learn more about the use of the system.

The key takeaway this week is that geography helps identify and explain why some destinations attract more tourists than others.

• Tourist Generating Region (TGR)

-the place where tourist come from and make their travel decision

• Transit route region (TGR)

-the area tourist through to reach the destination for example airport, road,port

• Tourist Destination Region (TDR)

-the final place tourist visit for activity

This element very important because every movement tourist from home to destinasition and back. without one of this areas tourist system cannot work

2. Compare the geographical roles of the Tourist Generating Region (TGR) and the Tourist Destination Region (TDR), specifically focusing on how push factors operate in the TGR and pull factors operate in the TDR.

• Tourist Generating Region (TGR)

-create push factor such as stress bad weater or the need for relaxation

-it is the place where touist plan and start their trip

• Tourist Destination Region (TDR)

-create push factor likea beach,calture,food,place

Push factor in TGR make people want to leave however push factor in TDR make people want to visit

3. Explain how the distinct cultural geographies of Tokyo (DC) and Langkawi Island (DVC) manifest as different pull factors, and relate this difference to the respective levels of economic development.

• Tokyo is devoloped country

-modern lifestyle,high technology,clean enviroman, easy transport

-pull factors: city life shopping,anime, and business tourism

-rich economy :support modern tourism fasilities

• Langkawi is developing country

-nature attraction,beaches,localculture,quiet envoiromen

-pull factor : nature,relexation,tradisional malay culture

-developing economy: focuses on heritage and eco tourism

The different in economy show that Tokyo offers modern attraction, while Langkawi offer natural and eco enviroment

4. Discuss how the challenges of spatial planning in Tokyo might differ significantly from those in Langkawi Island due to the scale and primary type of tourist activity (e.g., business vs. heritage leisure) dominant in each.

• Tokyo

-large city with business toursm

-problem: limited space,high cost,traffic problem

-focus: smart planning,tall building and good public transport

• Langkawi

-small island with eco and heritage tourism

-problem:need to protect nature and avoid overdevelopment

-fokus: sustainable tourism and local community development

The different happens because Tokyo planning focuses on urban,meanwhile Langkawi focuses on environment protection and heritage

In the 6 week, i were get a rubric assignment and also an assignment score of 60%. Dr norizan also given a study location assignment and formed groups according to the tutorial class. Our group get the topic "history of kampung perupok" and we also had to complete an assignment proposal and had to submit it by 30th disember 2025

In this week I learned about the topic "Physical Geography of Tourism". In that topic, geography focuses on the natural earth in terms of the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. This topic refers to the study of natural features and processes including climate, landform, water bodies, soils and ecosystem that shape the environment and influence tourism patterns. In this topic also, Tourism Geography is divided into two parts, namely human geography and physical geography. In human geography, there is cultural geography, population geography, political geography, economic geography and also historical geography. While physical geography has climatology, hydrology, geomorphology, biogeography, and soil geography.
