**Deciding if something is morally right often involves a mix of personal values, cultural norms, and ethical principles. People might consider the consequences of their actions, how it affects others, and whether it aligns with their sense of integrity and fairness. It can also involve empathy and the golden rule of treating others as one would like to be treated.

Explicit prejudice is one that is on the radar and awareness of our brain. We are aware that we are responding this way and why.

Implicit prejudice is an unthinking response under the radar and awareness of the brain.

Explicit prejudice: we are aware or conscious of our discriminatory remarks.

Implicit prejudice: negative actions, opinions, or behaviors that are unconsciously held towards a group that may be pre-existing thoughts.

Explicit - when we are aware of the judgement we are making

Implicit - when we are unaware of the judgements we are making and how they are influencing our behavior

Explicit is when you are aware you are being prejudgmental and discriminatory.

Implicit is when you are not conscious of the thoughts you have and will influence your behavior.

Explicit prejudice is where the person is aware of the previous beliefs and still chooses to make an unfair judgment on the situation. Implicit prejudice is not on purpose and it's a decision based on their past beliefs.

Emotional - Some of the emotional roots of prejudice include experiences and different emotions that lead to premade assumptions about different groups of people. Taking your experience and using it to judge everyone in the group.

Cognitive - A lot of stereotyping comes from the cognitive roots of prejudice. People have premade assumptions, opinions, and expectations for different groups of people

Obedience played a part because we were in school and told to read. The teacher that came in told us sorry she knows this isn't the right time given the classroom situation.

Conformity was reasoning that Mrs. Hahn is a coach and Mrs. Johnson is an adult

Experiment - 

You leave to (go to the bathroom or something) and have a teacher come in, have montrio come in and yell at a student who is a soccer player for them missing practice or doing something wrong during a game. See if any students stand up for the person getting yelled at and when you come in see if they tell you about it. If they do you act like you are on montrose side but don’t yell at the student. See if anyone will tell you that you are wrong

Psychologically, individuals may turn to drugs as a way to cope with underlying emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. The temporary relief or altered state of consciousness that drugs provide can be appealing to those seeking an escape or a way to self-medicate.

Socially, peer influence, societal norms, and environmental factors can play a significant role. People may be influenced by friends or social groups that engage in drug use, or they may be exposed to environments where drug use is prevalent or normalized.

Substance use disorders, including addiction, can develop when drug use becomes compulsive and interferes with daily functioning. These disorders involve a complex interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors.

However, the biopsychosocial aspects of drug use can help inform prevention, intervention, and treatment strategies.

Social: environmental factors such as other people if they are using the drugs or not, the people they are around, and what the social norms are.

Psychological: Depression, anxiety, trauma and other mental health disorders. They can be used to cope or something to fall back to and rely on.

Explicit Prejudice refers to conscious beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors that a person is aware of and openly expresses. Ex. someone who openly and purposely discriminates against a certain group would be demonstrating explicit prejudice.

Implicit Prejudice involves unconscious biases and stereotypes that influence someone's attitude or behavior to certain groups without the person realizing it. Upbring, culture, media influence, and personal experience can impact someone's perception of certain groups without them even being aware of it.

Emotional: As discussed in the previous padlet question, personal experience can play a huge role in prejudice. Emotion is something that would be closely tied to personal experience. If someone had a bad experience with a certain group, and there are heavy negative emotions associated with that experience, the chances the person could potentially hold prejudice towards that group based on their emotions would certainly be elevated.

Cognitive: within the human brain there are cognitive processes that create prejudice as we know it. Categorization, social learning, and cognitive biases, all play into creating predisposed judgement that we know as prejudice. Categorization is the human tendency to simplify and group information to make things easier. This categorization can lead to stereotyping as we categorize people into groups and then hold certain beliefs against these groups. Socialization as we observe and imitate those around us (family, friends, etc) can lead us to imitate and pick up on prejudices from those people. Cognitive bias such as confirmation bias, in the case of prejudice, would be looking to find information that supports our prejudice and ignoring information that doesn't, and homogeneity bias, believing those in an outside group are very similar, are two other ways cognition can cause our prejudice.

Psychologically, some individuals turn to drugs to cope with certain events in their life like loss of loved ones or loss of employment. Others may use them for religious and moral beliefs

Socially, some people may use drugs to fit into their friend group or trying to get into a certain social group. Many people are peer pressured into doing drugs, or only start them because they think it's cool and want to fit in. This can lead to constant substance abuse and a constant need to do drugs to continually fit in.

5. Reinforcement and reward: The pleasurable effects of drugs can create a cycle of reinforcement, leading to continued use.

6. Genetic and biological factors: Certain genetic and biological factors may predispose individuals to drug addiction.
