         <description><![CDATA[<p>&gt;Epicenter-- is the place above the ground that is directly above the focus</p><p>&gt;Surface wave--  commonly known as either Love waves&nbsp;(L&nbsp;waves) or Rayleigh&nbsp;waves.<span style="font-size: 13px;">&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">&gt;Fault-- a crack or fracture in the earths crust </span><br></p><p>&gt;Plate-- huge slab of earths layers called the lithosphere (the crust and upper mantle)</p><p>&gt;Seismograph-- <span style="font-size: 13px;">an instrument that measures and records details of earthquakes,&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">such as force and duration.</span></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li>Break a block of foam rubber in half.</li><li>Put the pieces on a smooth table.</li><li>Put the rough edges of the foam rubber pieces together.</li><li>While pushing the two pieces together lightly, push one piece away from you along the table top while pulling the other piece toward you. See how they stick?</li><li>Keep pushing and pulling smoothly.<br><br>(Soon a little bit of foam rubber along the crack (the fault) will break and the two pieces will suddenly slip past each other. That sudden breaking of the foam rubber is the earthquake. That's just what happens along a strike-slip fault)                        </li></ol>]]></description>

The magnitude of this particular earthquake is 3.8 mb_lg. The magnitude of an earthquake is determined by the amplitude of the seismic waves. The depth of this specific earthquake is 7.9km.  </p>]]></description>

The Epicenter was located approximately 5miles from Haileyville, near Boltonia. Scientist believe that a fault in the Earths crust stretching several hundred miles long may have had an impact on the turn out of this earthquake. Scientist have concluded that a level 4 earthquake has occurred.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Supplies: 5 different kool aid flavors/colors, rice, paper, large clear vase</p><p>step 1: pour one cup of water in with each kool aid packet in different cups, add a cup of rice to each mixture</p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">step 2: let the rice absorble the color, then drain the extra water</span><br></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">step 3: after the rice is dried, poor each cup of rice into the vase, making 6 different layers(one is normal rice)</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">step 4: after each layer is in the vase, use you paper to create a fault line</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">step 5: see what happens!? the layers split  and slid into eachother, much like during an earthquake</span></p>]]></description>
