At school visit , our heroes met Dana.

Dana is a 5th grader, 11 years old, a quiet little girl, a cheerful, friendly, beautiful and smart child! She was a student at a renowned school, with teachers involved, educated children from good families. Suddenly, on the face of Dana, mild states of sadness, depressing anxiety and often tears in eyes began to appear.

The cheerful and exuberant child, on the other hand, became a sad and non-communicative person on a daily basis, and even the rewarding child did not want to go to school. After long discussions with the 5th grade leadership and the school principal, he realized how careful I must be in changing his girlfriend's behavior.

Do you know what happened?

Because, Dana came from a family with a financial situation, worthy of envy, she was marginalized, intimidated, teased, harassed, offended and forced by Andrei (the head of a group of students subscribed to the school failure) to contribute daily from a financial point of view. as well as material. Dana was subjected periodically to verbal or non-verbal violence, emotional abuse, mockery and humiliation. Unfortunately, Andrei did not have any luck, because (his team was discovered and the necessary measures were taken). Being surrounded by colleagues who are laughing at you, your parents' salaries, your clothes, your family, whatever you do, denotes nothing but EVIL! How is it that you go to school in fear, and then be threatened by a student, like Andrei, that in the event that you do not honor his requests and his acolytes, you will be severely punished *

Compared to the ones mentioned above, Dana found support in the attitude of her parents, but also of the educational unit, in which she had the quality of student, the help being granted by; (Children's Telephone Association), within the project (BULLYNG- FROM VERBAL HARASSMENT, TO PHYSICAL HARASSMENT WITH STUDENTS)

Unfortunately, we are talking about an award-winning child, who has not lost his confidence in him, immediately asking for the help of parents, school management and therapist.

Dana, NO, lived with the drama of the darkening phenomenon, did not withdraw from the fight, knowing exactly how to suppress her feelings of anger and manage calmly and wisely the whole situation.

She was teased, nicknamed, offended, mocked, but with the help of the above, she was able to prove to Andrei that the injustice she was subjecting was in fact his emotional problem.

Unfortunately, as a conclusion today the phenomenon of bulyng is a serious problem, not only for Dana and Andrei, but it is a phenomenon that: We have no way to deny it, but we can treat it!

With her new friend, Dana managed to regain her confidence and smile again.

Thus, our heroes was happy that she could help a child to smile again. He was just waiting to tell about this friendship, especially now that he was going to a camp.

A few days ago two mascots Mr and Mrs Abis went to Stary Sącz in Poland. The weather was good. But it was not hot and sunny. 

First, the mascots went to the clothes shop. There they bought two beautiful T-shirts and two nice pairs of trousers. They were very happy. Next, the mascots went to the restaurant called "Marysieńka" and there they ate traditional Polish food. Pork chops, of course. For them they were delicious. They really liked the pork chops at the restaurant. 

Then, they went to the papal altar. On the way they saw two children. The boy was ten years old and the girl was nine years old. 

 They were fighting with each other. The mascots said: 

-Stop fighting. Be friends.

I went to the mountains and saw the mascots and helped them, too. I called an ambulance. Mr Abis scratched his knee and broke his leg. The ambulance took Mr Abis to hospital.  

In the end, everything ended well.
It is important to help others and treat others the way you want to be treated.

On the next day they went to the rope park near the ponds. It was great fun! Then they admired the views of the town from Parkowa Hill.  

On the last day they went on a bike trip, and at the end of their journey around Stary Sącz they bought some souvenirs.  

Thanks to this trip they learned many interesting things about John Paul II who had often taught about peace and not using violence. Mr and Mrs Abis also got to know some beautiful corners of Stary Sącz. They got to know each other better, too. They will gladly visit this place again.

One day they found their way to a small town - Stary Sącz. They started their trip from the papal altar. However, it quickly turned out, that nobody needed the mascots there, so they continued their journey and went further. 

 

Next, they were taken to a pizza restaurant ’Bartolini’. After their first working day, Mr Abis and Mrs Abis were totally dirty with tomato sauce because some babies were playing with them while eating dinner. The local cinema called 'Sokół’ was their next destination. Unfortunately, this place wasn’t very lucky for them, either.  

 

This time instead of tomato sauce, they were covered with sticky Coca-Cola and greasy popcorn. At that time, the mascots wanted to give up, but they noticed an announcement that Juliusz Słowacki Primary School was seeking the mascots to represent their school in an international Erasmus project. They decided to take part in the audition and it turned out to be a great success. 

 

On the next day they went for an interview. They were really stressed as their competitors were very good. But a day later, when the results were displayed on the noticeboard, they noticed that they had won the competition. Since then Mr Abis and Mrs Abis have been representing the school on many foreign trips, talking about love, forgiveness and not bullying others.

And so we actually won and we were happy about it. We were so excited because the main prize was going to Poland as exchange students for a week, plus we would be able to go sightseeing around Stary Sącz, which as we had heard before was a well-known historical place. We were going to have English lessons there, too. 

We arrived in StarySącz on Saturday afternoon and right after our arrival we went to the place where we were going to stay for a week. It was Opoka Pilgrimage Centre, which was stunning. Near the hotel in Stary Sącz there was the papal altar where Pope John Paul II had the canonization mass of Blessed Kinga on June 16, 1999. It was the feast of faith, emphasised by the character of the event.  

 

On the next day we went on a tour of Stary Sącz and got to know the place. In the morning we attended the Polish mass for the first time in the Convent of Poor Clares. Saint Kinga founded the convent and she is actually the patron saint of Stary Sącz. After the mass we went to the market square for a walk and we took another walk to Parkowa Hill where we could see and observe the whole town of Stary Sącz. When we finished sightseeing in this beautiful town, we got back to our hotel and we were preparing our things for our first day in the Polish school. We were so excited about it. Our first day at school went well. All the lessons were in English. And we made some new friends there in the school. They were nice and friendly students. The other days went by really quickly. The last day was hard. We did not want to leave this town.  

 

One day we were walking along the street to school. We were almost there when we saw a student from our class that was being bullied by someone older than him. They were next to the school building. The students who had seen them didn't react because they were scared of the bully and afraid to be bullied, too.  

So MrAbis and I needed to do something. We couldn’t just stand there and watch, so we decided that we would defend him from that guy. When the other students saw what we had done, they realised that they needed to defend him, as well. They realised that what that guy was doing was just not right. Hurting someone intentionally is not right. It is not right to bully someone who does no harm to you. That student who was the victim of bullying had not done anything wrong. We helped him and we defended him. We didn't want to fight.  

We wanted peace and we hoped that the bully would change himself. Instead of bullying you can help others, make friends, become a better person and have a peaceful and good life.  

We've learnt a lot since coming to Stary Sącz in Poland that we really appreciate. I just hope that I will return here someday, together with MrAbis, of course.

They looked at each other and they were happy to be friends who could share such beautiful moments and see such amazing places. When you are with a friend, even simple moments can be special. And then simple moments can be priceless memories.

It was November 2012 when Carolina Picchio, a14-year-old girl is at a party with som friends of hers.

Maybe she drinks too much, feels sick and goes to the bathroom. There she loses consciousness and is joined by some peers who harass her by filming everything with a mobile phone. Shortly after, the video is online and receives  around 2000 views and 2600 comments in 24 hours.

Despite the requests for help Carolina can't stand up to  the humiliations, insults and scornful comments  and on the night between 4 and 5 January 2013 she wrote a letter saying “Words hurt more than beatings. What happened to me no longer has to happen to anyone " and then she committed suicide by jumping from the balcony.

Not even death gives her peace because someone has stolen her identity and photos to make them run on pornographic sites.

On May 29, 2017 the Italian parliament passed the law against cyberbullying proposed by MP Elena Ferrara, Carolina' teacher.
