         <description><![CDATA[<p><b><i><u>Tobacco taxation</u></i></b></p><p>Health Promotion Board</p><p>A study by the World Bank showed that for every 10% increase in the real inflation adjusted price, there will be a decrease in the consumption of cigarettes by 2% - 8%</p><p>Tobacco tax has increased regularly since 1987 to discourage non-smokers from picking up the smoking habit, and to encourage current smokers to stop or smoke less. The current cigarette tax is $0.352 per stick of 1g or below, and an additional $0.352 per stick of 1g for each additional 1g or part thereof.</p><p>The&nbsp;Smoking (Control of Advertisements and Sale of Tobacco) Act&nbsp;(enforced by the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.hsa.gov.sg/publish/hsaportal/en/health_products_regulation/tobacco.print.html?Status=1">Health Sciences Authority</a>), which includes:</p><ul><li>Prohibiting tobacco advertisements and promotion.</li><li>Mandatory rotation of graphic health warnings on tobacco products.</li><li>Limiting the tar and nicotine levels of cigarettes sold locally.</li><li>Prohibiting the use of tobacco products by persons below 18 years of age.</li><li>Prohibiting the sale/supply of tobacco to these under-aged youths</li></ul><div><h2><b><u><i>Partnerships</i></u></b></h2><div>Health Promotion Board (HPB) actively engages educational institutions, private workplaces, the uniformed groups, healthcare professionals, youth organisations, community and religious groups, and parents, to promote a smoke-free lifestyle.<i style="text-decoration: underline;"><br></i></div><br></div><div><b><u><i>Public education</i></u></b></div><div>Educating the public through various platform such as community organisations and campaign. So that people understand the risk and consequences of smoking.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Create a replica of cigarette with sweet flavours that does not contain any chemicals from original cigarettes.</p><p>When people buy cigarette, it comes along with the replica that encourages them to stop smoking at the same time.</p><p>This help smokers to slowly kick their habit of smoking as they haven't experience the temporary, addictive feeling caused by the nicotine.</p>]]></description>
