Standing in the middle of the night market, my senses were overloading. Sounds and smells in all directions as well as every conversation happening between them and the store vendor, it was bustling. It was crowded too, almost too crowded. It felt like traversing a ravine so narrow it was crushing my rib cage. The umami aroma from the food vendors smelt so good I was borderline drooling. The hustle and bustle of the night market felt chaotic, but was still comfortable. Then, everything vanished. Time felt like it stopped. The air was stale and it felt like I was suffocating. The once bustling night market was now the opposite, devoid of any life and stripped of its colour.

One place that really brings a sense of peace of serenity to me is Jewel Changi Airport. The

waterfall in the Jewel Changi Airport is one of wonder. Whenever I go there, it just strikes me of how big and scenic this waterfall is. The water just flowing down from the diamond-shaped roof into the depth of the Jewel Mall. It is just purely a picturesque and just refreshing sight. The plants and nature really brings me into a whole new dimension. The abundance of malls and amenities available in the 8-floored mall is absolutely astonishing and brilliant. On one floor, you can find a restaurant with your favourite food and on another, you can find souvenirs. It also serves as a link way within terminals and is highly convenient. This is why I feel it to be one of my most favoured places and brings peace to me.

When was the last time I have been to my grandparents house? When I was five? Maybe six? It has been so long since the I met them all the way our home town, but the memories could never leave my head. From the front door, the living room was spacious and wide. On the right from the door, was a gigantic dining table with around 10 chairs. At the far end, there were several windows that showcased a magnificent view with green pastures and some other old, wooden houses, which looked exactly the same as my grandparents’ humble abode. At the left rounded corner was a burning fire, which sizzled and kept the home warm and comfy. Laughter filled the atmosphere through my little mouth as my grandfather always shared his stories of his good old days, as we comfortably sat on the couch in front of the dining table. The kitchen entrance was just at the left side of the front door, so the pleasant and mouth watering aroma of my grandmother’s freshly backed pies and cookies could almost immediately enter my nostrils. The unforgettable feeling and vibe would always give me a wave of nostalgia wash over my head, and my spine would tingle.

The summer sun beat down relentlessly on the road, the waves of the heat rose off the road like flames above a roof. As i stepped into the house, i was greeted by a cool breeze of wind and it smelled minty fresh. I walked into the guest room to settle down, and heard people in the living room buzzing like hornet bees.Memories from my childhood flooded my mind like a ferocious wave, remembering life when i had lived there.

A colossal beam towered over other miniature buildings. Root-like pointed objects protruded from the top. Leaves intertwined along the beam, forming a majestic natural pattern, enshrouding it in glorious lush flora. The wind gushed relentlessly, caressing my face, the cool breeze complimenting the scenery almost perfectly. Sun rays seeped through the dense clouds, beams of light scattered across the field. Long expansive bridges circled around the beams, connecting the beams together. This place encapsulates a feeling of calmness and nostalgia, taking me back to my sepia-tinged childhood.

A special place that i feel that i would never forget would be a grand destination i went once for my sister’s birthday: the buffet in the w hotel, located near/ in Sentosa. During that special day, as i entered that buffet, i was greeted with a bustling orchestra of scents and aromas, as the melodious notes of freshly baked bread was intertwined with the rich melody’s of sizzling meats. Each aroma danced around the room, inviting us to indulge in its majestic composition.

There was soft ambient lighting, casting a warm glow over the carefully arranged tables, adorned with unique patterns and gleaming silver utensils. There were soft murmurs of conversation floating in the ear, intermingling with the gentle clinking of glasses and occasionoal Burst of laughter.

However, the buffet was the one that took the spotlight. Every vibrant dish was arranged to tempt even the worst palate.

The chairs around the buffet were like regal thrones, plush cushions inviting guest to sink into comfort as they savoured their culinary journey. Each chair was adorned with intricately carved details, reminiscent of ancient rartifacts unearthed from a lost kingdom.

As for the tableware, it was nothing but a treasure trove of elegance. The silverware sparkled Like stars against the backdrop of crisp white linens, each utensil like a gem.

As the evening drew to a close as the last crumbs were savoured, there was senses of satisfaction as there were still clinking of glasses and coversations lasting. As we bid farewell to the buffet, I felt grateful for the experience I was able to dwell in, as well as happy for my sister that was as happy as me.

This would be why it was a special place in would never forget and also never cease to look forward to begging my parents for it again. Maybe my birthday?

Lembang, Bandung, Indonesia | My very special place is a small place in Indonesia, I hold many precious memories here. This place is Bandung, Indonesia. You have to travel a long and winding slightly nauseous three hour journey up the hill through Bandung City before you reach there. When you get there, the journey would have been worth it because the air is fresh and clear, it smells clean, in comparison to the city you drove up from. The sun is bright, but because Lembang is on a hill, the temperature dips just enough so that you would need a sweater. The sunlight is warm amidst the cool breeze, creating a contrast. We went camping and when we woke up the next morning it was a slightly windy 12 degrees C, yet the sunbeams were already very obvious at around 7am. You could see children jumping to catch the sunbeams and almost dancing around the tall pine trees. They played hide and seek on the slopes of the hill and rolled around in the prickly lush green grass. The cabin we stayed in was warm and cozy, though it was small. The sheets felt like it was grandma's home and you always felt like the bed was hugging you. The window was a large glass panel that could be adjusted to let the light filter in gracefully.
