Welcome back to school! I hope you and your children had a wonderful break and are feeling excited about the new school year. I am thrilled to begin another year of learning with your students and to work together as partners in their growth and success.

In our classroom, we celebrate the many cultures, experiences, and languages that our students bring with them. If your child speaks a language other than English at home, please know that this is a valued strength. We are committed to supporting multilingual learners so that every student can participate fully and feel confident in the classroom.

Throughout the year, students will receive support in developing their English skills while continuing to build strong reading, writing, speaking, and thinking abilities across all subjects. We use a variety of strategies to help all students succeed, such as visual supports, vocabulary development, collaborative learning, and opportunities to connect their home language and experiences to classroom learning.

Families play an important role in student success. You can help by encouraging your child to read, talk about what they are learning, and continue using and valuing your home language. If you ever have questions, concerns, or information you would like to share about your child’s language or learning needs, please feel free to reach out.
