This type of parenting style is unsupportive and demanding. Little communication takes places and is very parent centered. Parent is very strict and disciplinary and may lead to social incompetence among child. 

 I think this is the parenting style shown in the video because the parent displays all the previously stated characteristics of authoritarian parenting. He hardly treats the children as human beings. He has high demands and expectations for the children and minimal communication. Permissive parenting is very supportive, but involves little discipline and no structure. This type of parenting results in over-indulgence of the child and social incompetence. This type of parent is likely to say, "Sure, do whatever you would like honey." Permissive parenting in involved and child centered, but undemanding. This creates an environment of low expectations and little boundaries. 

The reason I think this video displays permissive parenting is because Robin William's character agrees with the child and places much importance on catering and agreeing with the child. I think this is the parenting displayed in the video because Bill Cosby figures out the situation at hand by using effective communication with Theodore. He creates a life lesson using mechanisms that his child will understand, he makes is expectations of his child clear, and explains to him WHY those expectations are important to benefiting the child in the long run.
