Last summer we camped on Santa Rosa island off the coast of California which has been my favorite California experience yet! Santa Rosa is part of the Channel Islands National Park. Check it out! It is an isolated island with no inhabitants. A boat comes once every three days to drop you off or pick you up. My work as a school counselor allows me to do all of these things every day with a some pretty amazing students and staff. Before becoming a school counselor, I was the Graphic arts teacher here at Maine West. There were so many things that I did like about teaching, but it never felt like the best fit for me. It wasn't until one of my students said, "Hey, you would be a really great counselor!" that it clicked! It as like a"Ah-ha!" moment.
