This image was taken during the beginning of the trial awaiting for this lady to admit of doing witch craft or not taking any part of witch craft. Whether or not the women actually did witch craft it still didn't determine her likely hood of surviving because back in 1692 an accusation was enough evidence for the court to determine your punishment. All the times that had occurred led to more suspicion that Satan had minions such as witches and warlocks to do his bid for him.
