Last year, during the school holiday in December, my mother and I have traveled to South Korea, for five days. Luckily for us, the winter season had just started when we went there from the first day. It was a very wonderful experience for both of us to go there as there are a lot of interesting places to do in that beautiful country.

Let me start from the first day. As we arrived at night in the Incheon International Airport, we were welcomed by our tour guide named Song Min Ho. He brought us straight away to our accommodation place where we are going to sleep that night. The place that we are going to stay at that night was called MGM hotel which took us 20 minutes of journey from the airport. we were so tired that since the morning that we departed from KLIA, then we arrived at the hotel on 10.00 o'clock. The hotel was so nice. It has a lot of similarities with the hotel in Malaysia.

On the second day, we were brought to a mall named 'Square 1', in Incheon by the guide, so that we can go shopping. The mall is so big at a point that both of us almost get lost to find our way out of the mall. For our lunch, we ate at a restaurant in the mall an were served with Bulgogi and Tteok-Bokki. It was so delicious but a little spicy for me, but my mother loves it so much since she likes spicy food. Then, we visited the football stadium in incheon. It was weird for me to see a football field covered with snow for the first time but it was kind of beautiful for me.

Next day, we were brought to a farther place and to be specific, we were going to Nami's Island. It is a half-moon shaped Island located in Chuncheon. The island is so beautiful with symmetrical looking view inside the walking in the island. Over, we were having Yakiniku and Kimchi for our lunch. These food are no doubt too spicy for me, but still the taste is very good and the food is actually quite healthy.
It was a wonderful experience to view the beauty of the Island especially in winter season. lLuckily, we managed to meet and take picture of celebrities Kim Jong Kook and Ha Doong Hoon, who were filming a variety show on that day.

On the forth day, we visited a place called 'Everland'. It is basically a zoo that houses a lot of animals that mostly we can see in our continent. Everland was Korea’s first family park and is still one of its most popular. There is a safari area featuring lions, tigers and bears, a water park, and some of the country’s most famed, lush gardens. Over there, we ate Bibimbap and Dim-sum during the visit. These are my favorite food that I have eaten Korea, where it is not spice but so full of wonderful flavors. Before going to the hotel, we went to a street market in Seoul named Namdaemun Market, where we bought a few merchandises for our relatives and friends. It was so crowded and it reminds me of the Gaya Street environment in Kota Kinabalu. Then on the evening, we went to Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival. With over 1 million visitors each year, it is often touted as one of the world’s biggest winter festivals. We were entertained by the activities that include figure skating, bobsleighing, mountain trout fishing on ice, ice sledding, ice soccer, and even a larger-than-life snow castle and snow park.

As for our last day, we checked-out from the hotel and headed towards the airport. After settling the payment of our guide which was so affordable, we thanked him so much for bringing us to explore a few beautiful places in Korea. As for me and my mother, it was an opportunity for us to strengthen our bonds between a son and a mother. I hope that we can visit another country that can open our eyes to witness the beauty of the nature and others culture.

'A picture from Nami's Island"
