When Steve first spawned in the world he was blinded by the lights, and deafened by the sounds.

As soon as he adapted his eyes to the lights he realized that he was in the remnants of a great player city that seemed to have been burnt.

As he got closer to the ruins he saw dead bodys on the ground with freshly dropped items from their warriors

“ What happened here?” He thought while picking up some of the items.

As he picked up an iron sword he heard a groaning in one of the burning buildings.

He quickly picked up a set of iron armor and carefully went to investigate.

Now when players spawn into the world they have knowledge of all the things an average player does, and the average player knows quite a bit about basically anything.

 It's how Steve knew that the city was abandoned, but we will get to that later, so back to the story.

As he approached the sound he drew his sword, ready to strike.

“ arrrggg!!!” The voice seemingly yelled in pure agony.

It was muffled though, so it sounded like someone screaming, or in this case groaning into a pillow.

As he approached the supposed location of the sound he got more nervous and nervous, until he finally saw him, a netherite elite from the nether worshipers.

He was bleeding from the gap between his leggings and chestplate and had many dents across his armor, certainly a veteran, even his age said that he was a ranking officer.

The warrior seemed to be around forty-fifty  years old, older than most standard warriors, even

Most generals.

As the warrior stood up his wound quickly put him back on the ground, limping to grab his sword that was around five feet away from him.

In a panic Steve grabbed a bow and a couple arows and quickly drew the bow firing a single arrow at the wariors head.

CLUNK!

The arrow hit the warrior's head knocking him out instantly.

As the warrior hit the ground Steve acted fast, he swiftly but quietly picked up the warrior's sword, stabbing it into the warrior's head killing him instantly.

As Steve investigates the body, he pulls the sword out of his head.

SPLISH!

Blood gushes out, a very violent scene.

As he looks closer he sees a small amulet on the wariors neck.

He picks it up.

When he looks closer he sees some crimson dust.

He has no idea what it is.

He decides to take it anyway.

He also picks up the armor, leaving the bloodied corpse behind.

As he moves deeper into the city he sees corpses of men, warriors, women, children! 

He fills with rage while looking at the body of a little girl.

As he gets closer he flips her over. 

“It was a decoy!” He thought to himself while investigating it. He looked closely at the ground and saw footsteps. 

When he started to follow them it led to a long trail of many people walking, at the beginning it was a bunch of trails leading to one huge trail that seemed to go on forever.

He starts to follow the trail which leads to a carelessly dismantled portal.

And by carelessly dismantled, they did not even destroy all the pieces of obsidian!

It was rather easy to repair the portal.

The big problem was lighting it.

He tried to light it with some flint and steel that he got in the city.

CLICK!

Nothing...

He soon realized that maybe the crimson dust had something to do with it and placed a pinch of it on the portal frame.

CLICK!

He attempted to light the portal again to no avail and an seemingly endless purple ooze started to drip out of the obsidian.

He struck the flint with the steel one last time.

CLICK!

The spark from the flint and steel caused what looked like fireworks to ignite in the portal frame causing a crimson portal that looked very close to the purple glow of an nether portal to ignite in the frame.

As he stared at the pure beauty, and mystery of the portal he regained his focus, drew his sword and jumped in.

What a sight it was when he made it to the other side.

                  Chapter 2

As soon as he got out of the portal and adjusted his eyes to the surprisingly dark surroundings he saw warriors in wither skeleton skulls essentially herding the inhabitants of the city.

As he started stealthy moving through the hellish terrain he assassinated one of the warriors and before the other one could fully respond he got a sword to the face killing him instantly.

With no one watching and the citizens scared and confused, let's remember that he was in netherite, designed to strike fear into the enemies of the nether worshipers, like the citizens of basically any city.

Anyways, around eight seconds later a captured warrior threatened him.

“ I'll kill you!” He threatened with his fists clenched.

“Not that would be a little hard wouldn't it!” Steve chuckled while taking off his helmet.

“Sorry.” The warrior said after realizing that the supposed netherite elite was just another regular player, like him.

“Hurry, let's go!” Steve shouted while putting back on his helmet.

Two of the warriors picked up swords from the fallen guards.

Just then a patrol of four warriors came along seeing the dead guards and escaped warriors and steve in netherite.

They were stunned for a second before coming back to reality and charging at them.

One went running to the fortress doors to alert the military but was quickly hit with an arrow straight into his head.

THWOOSH!

CLUNK!

Steve swiftly put another arrow into his bow and fired again.

THWOOSH!

CLUNK!

Another arrow was shot at a warrior killing him instantly as well.

With the last two warriors being put down by the city's warriors they started to move towards the fort's door.

As he could see the door he could see two lava knights, the most powerful, elite, and skilled nether warriors of all time. 

Even more powerful than the netherite elites!

Steve and the people of the city got very scared as the guards broke their posts and started to march forward. 

Steve drew his sword and the warriors prepared for combat, they thought they were going to be part of a skirmish when…

SPLISH!

One of the lava knights stabbed their sword into the other one.

The other lava knight dropped dead and the killer took off his helmet revealing his face.

“Follow me!” he said in a stern but friendly voice.

He looked to be much older than the netherite elite from before.

Probably 60 years old.

After he said that everyone snapped back into reality.

Remember a lava knight is supposed to be the nether worshipers' most elite, LOYAL warrior, so just imagine the confusion that steve and the citizens felt when the lava knight betrayed the nether worshipers.

The citizens started to quickly move towards the fortress gate but when they got there there was a complex system of levers and buttons that would take weeks, even months to crack, On top of that there's some levers and buttons that will blow you to smithereens, wither you away, or straight up shoot arrows at you.

“Don’t worry, I know the code.” He said while pressing a button that made a hissing sound, like a creeper or some TNT that was ready to ignite.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS…

“You might want to step back! You don’t want to get blown into smithereens.” the warrior said calmly while pulling a lever.

The sound of the TNT slowly faded but then reappeared at the fortress door.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS…

BANG!

A muffled explosion could be heard from where Steve was standing.

Then...

CRASH!

The fortress door imploded.

Steve and the knight drew their swords, and rushed into the fortress door.

                  Chapter 3

When Steve and the lava knight had gotten through the door they were instantly welcomed with a volley of arrows coming from the many warriors positioned at pillars throughout the corridor.

When it started they rushed outside and hid right outside the doorway.

Steve fired a few shots with his bow and the lava knight used his enchanted bow.

As the lava knight fired his bow the arrows seemed to magically light on fire and had some black particle effect.

Now remember when I told you that Steve when he spawned had the knowledge of an average player?

If you don't go back to chapter one and reread it.

So that is the only reason Steve knows so much about the nether, the average player lives in nether worshiper cities so that's how Steve knew all the ranks of the nether worshipers.

Anyways as he fired a couple arrows at the warriors they ducked behind the pillars 

“How the hell will we shoot them!?!” Steve shouted while launching an arrow at a warior who quickly ducked away 

“Like this!” the knight yelled while jumping out of his cover and rushing towards the pillars. 

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!” Steve shouted very loudly while attempting to shoot another warior to no avail.

“Killing them.” He said calmly while stabbing a warrior while taking arows to his armor like they were nothing.

“Come on! The arrows will do nothing to netherite.” the warrior said while choking a warrior with one hand and stabbing another with his other hand.

Steve rushed out of his hiding place and drew his sword, charging at a warrior.

While Steve was sword fighting a warrior. A sorcerer came to the battlefield.

 He threw a few potions and attempted to run away.

His getaway didn’t last long with Steve swiftly drawing his bow and shooting him in the back.

The dead warriors' skin dissolved with a black aura around them.

Steve drew his sword.

“WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!?!?” Steve yelled while tightening his grip on his sword.

“Wither skeletons.” The knight said while drawing his sword.

“Go protect the civilians!” The knight yelled while taking down a wither skeleton.

“GO!”

Steve ran outside while watching the knight slowly get overwhelmed by the wither skeletons.

He ran outside back to the civilians. He gave some of the townspeople swords and took the two warriors with him to help the knight.

                  Chapter 4

Lava knights never die.

Those were the last words my father said to me before dying in battle.

I've been living by those words for all of my life, well all of it until now.

As long as I can remember I've been  a loyal follower, warrior, and knight for the nether worshipers.

I've blindly followed them, fought for them and was hoping when I die, to die for them.

But now, in all of this I've been nothing but a pawn, a worthless grain of sand on the beach, one of tens of thousands of warriors, like me they've been following the wrong path, seduced by glory and honor.

What honor comes from massacring innocent children, genociding entire empires, and killing innocent civilians.

Every night after a massacre or wiping out a village I asked myself, was it worth it to kill innocent civilians for honor? 

Glory?

For the king?

I somehow always convinced myself that it was right and the nether worshipers were the good guys and all else was evil, but no.

We were the bad guys, we are evil, but I will try to change.

In my final hours I fight for the innocent civilians, I fight for the rebellions, I fight for the people.

As I rip the head off of a wither skeleton I wonder, will  I ever make it out alive?

Will I ever get to see the light of day again?

Will the wither skeletons finally bring my end?

How will the people survive?

I suddenly filled with rage, each slash and stab of my sword was for the dead or enslaved civilians killed by the goons and brutality of the nether worshipers.

For the people!

For the wariors!

For the Dead!

Even after I had torn all of them limb per limb I kept stabbing and slicing at their corpses ignoring the fact that they were already dead.

When Steve and the city warriors walked in.

It wasn't a pretty scene.

I was brutally slashing and ripping appart the corpses shouting curses towards the nether worshipers and breaking the bones with my hands.

They calmed me down and I felt embarrassed that I had gone into a full rage.

They assured me that it was ok and said that they all felt like that.

I'm glad that they had forgiven me so easily and that they understood.

 I personally would not have forgiven myself.

They have taught me a valuable lesson.

A valuable lesson indeed.

                 Chapter 5

As Steve ran into the fortress he saw the knight ripping apart the wither skeletons and shouting curses and profanity while doing it.

“THIS IS GENOCIDE!!! NONE OF YOU DESERVE TO LIVE!!! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!!” He yelled while brutally ripping apart the wither skeleton corpses.

Steve and the wariors assured him it was ok and they started back on their quest to destroy the nether worshiper rank structure and cause civil war, rebellions, and the inevitable fall of the nether worshipers. 

As they first got into the officers meeting room they were greeted with a barrage of arrows.

They were also welcomed with four wither skeleton guards, who all had shields.

The skeletons didn't last long with them being killed within a minute.

Steve, the knight, and the warriors took their shields and used them to protect themselves from the arows.

The knight got close enough to the dispenser system to disable it.

CLUNK!

“Those arrows are no more!”The lava knight said excitedly while drawing his bow.

WOOSH!
The arrow fired by the knight zoomed through the air and hit a high ranking nether worshiper general, wounding others with the splash of the tipped decay potion.

They rushed into the room and slaughtered the generals and officers.

“This will take them down a notch!”The lava knight said while assassinating the highest ranking officer in the room.

When they were done with their murderous spree they scavenged weapons from the battlefield.

There were many weapons on the battlefield due to the absurd amount of weapons the average nether warrior had, a bow, a sword, and an axe along with a potion of healing for them.

“Why didn't they use them?”Steve said while swooping up a handful of potions.

“They're rationed.”Said the lava knight while picking up a sword and some other weapons.

“The dragon protectors raided their potion brewing facility and took everything, brewing stands and all.

After that they blew it up.

An amazing feat.

Got to give them credit.”The lava knight said while leading the group of rebels to the townspeople.

On their way Steve said,”Do you think they will be ok? I mean it's not like that they could hold their own against a horde of nether worshipers.”

“If they survived so far, they will certainly survive a couple nether goons.” Said the lava knight while walking out the door.

                  Chapter 6

As soon as Steve and the warriors got back to the townspeople they saw a pile of bodys with the civilians scavenging their corpses.

“Oh, your back!” A person said while picking up a sword from one of the corpses.

“WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED HERE!?!” Steve yelled in a confused voice.

“Oh nothing much, a horde of nether warriors came one by one.” Said the civilian while inspecting an enchanted iron sword.

“How the hell did you kill all of them?” Said the knight while looking at a netherite sword on the ground.

“They came one by one, each attack more desperate than the last, they came in seemingly random numbers, the highest being five.” Said the civilian putting away the sword.

“We could hear them repeat what seemed like random phrases, but we made this out. May dawn may not fall again.

“I recognize those, there the sucide protocols. 

Said the lava knight in a sad voice.

Then he explained how he knew.

A tragic story and they started to not feel guilt for killing the wariors.

We walked away with a stronger morale and started to walk towards the throne room.

                  Chapter 7

May the dawn not fall again.

When I heard my father had died I swore to avenge him.

After I had joined I was put into a high ranking spot due to the bravery my family showed in combat, my father had killed many in the human piglin war and his father had fought in the great war against the dragon protectors.

He supposedly died to a dragon fireball after slaying 16 endermen, 4 end warriors and an ender dragon.

Brave man, he had risked everything to fight for a cause he believed in and lost it all, but his sacrifice was not forgotten due to the nether corps being able to win the battle.

But in the grand scheme of things they were pawns, they might not have known it but their sacrifices were in vain, the nether lost the end war and the kingdom that my father died fighting ultimately defeated the nether, with more people dying in that war than any other.

I always thought that the nether worshipers cared about their warriors, but that was proved to be wrong with the general telling me to send battalions to their demise, I followed the orders knowing that they would die for a greater cause.

I thought they at least cared about the lava knights, but no.

I saw knights go in suicide just because they were told to.

I was asked to do this by many lower ranking officers, due to it being effective.

I killed them.

Yes I killed them, it was treason.

They were committing treason by asking that due to me being a higher ranking officer.

They were stupid officers that came from rich and powerful familys, giving them good ranks.

They were never good officers, worse than most warriors.

But back to the suciside protocols, the ones that made the warrior go sucide, when a fortress is falling the warriors will go kamikaze and kill their ranks to prevent prisoners, same with offencive.

They want to prevent prisoners because all of the wariors know where the unfinished citadel is, it has enough firepower to destroy the end or the entire world!

As soon as we attacked the throne room I brought it up.

Let us destroy the nether worshipers for once and for all!

These words were the only thing keeping me going.

When I exterminated my first rebel group these words were the last words said by their leader before I shot him.

I now know his determination to destroy the monstrosity that was the nether worshipers, then I did not know it but those people were fighting for every freedom from the tyrant that was the king.

I thought that the rebel leaders were destroying convoys of troops to be genocidal, but no.

They were trying to stop the near goddamn infinite waves of warriors, this was effective but had no honor, but if you're fighting a war where you outnumbered one thousand to one, honor is not an option.

                 Chapter 8

Getting into the throne room was a challenge.

Steve, the warriors, and the knight had to face fifty warriors to get into it.

Not just any warriors, most were skeleton guards or archers.

They had to use three health potions to get through!

When they were surrounded by guards the knight yelled,

“Quick! Steve, rush them!”

They quickly started to go kamikaze and took many hits from spears and swords alike, Steve had to use two out of the three health potions to survive.

After they had stabbed the last warrior they marched towards the throne room, ready for anything.

As soon as they got there they were met with 2 lava knights, both still loyal to the nether worshipers.

“Get to the throne room, I'll take care of them!” The knight yelled while engaging in a sword fight with one of the knights.

“GO!” The knight shouted while blocking an attack made by one of the knights.

Steve and the wariors ran into the throne room and saw the king.

“Well well well, what do we have here? The king said while picking up his sector, It looked like an end rod but had a glowing ball at the top and also had spikes made out of netherite.

FWOOM!

A crimson blade popped out of the bottom of it.

Its glow could easily be defined by the darkness of the room.

As they stood there with weapons drawn the only thing that broke the complete silence of the room was the crackling hum of the crimson blade.

“YAHHH!” The king flew off his chair and stabbed the blade directly into Steve's chest, knocking the wind out of him.

“OOF!” Steve wheesed while trying to regain his breath.

The king attempted to use the spiked part of his rod to bash Steve's skull with but Steve was too quick.

When he regained his breath he grabbed his sword and slashed at the king's chest.

But even though the king was old, he was still an amazing sword fighter, easily blocking the slash and using the red blade to launch a counter blow.

CLING!

The crimson blade made a huge noise while crashing into Steve's sword, causing the blade to flicker for a moment before regaining its former steady glow.

As the blade regained strength both the warriors sneak attacked them from behind, stabbing him in the chest, knocking him down.

“Your reign has come to an end.” Steve said while picking up the modified end rod.

CRACK!

The end rod went straight through his head killing him instantly.

“Your reign has come to an end” Steve said while taking the staff out of his head.

He took the end rod as a new weapon.

As they went to check on the knight he saw that he was inspecting one of the fallen lava knights swords.

“Pretty pathetic knights, they had no idea what they were up against.” The knight said while picking up a brand new enchanted netherite sword.

“Did you kill the king?” The knight asked.

“Yep, he's as good as dead.” one of the warriors said while grabbing the knight's old netherite sword.

“Good, now let's get out of this joint!” the knight said while grabbing the rest of the fallen knights supplies.

As they left the knight said he would take a small detour to do some maintenance.

When he got back he yelled,

“GET OUT OF HERE THIS PLACE IS GOING TO BLOW!” 

They all got out in time and led the confused and scared civilians to a safe area to watch the fort blow.

They all cheered while watching the fortase walls implode.

“Looks like the nether worshipers are no more!” the lava knight said in an excited voice.

“No more.”

                Chapter 9

The fact that the king was supposedly killed was shocking and joyful.

As soon as I heard the news I was overjoyed, shocked, and stunned.

The head of operations of the nether worshipers was killed along with many high ranking officers, it was exciting to say the least considering that the one and only enemy of the people had died.

I should mention that his name was Leon.

When Steve had gotten the end rod It had the information of my grandfather's time in the military in a scroll hidden inside one of the spikes.

It had been in a very bad location, like he wanted someone to find it…

He was possessed, when he was in his normal state he must have put it there.

The sad thing is that It also had a note to me, for when he died.

It stated,

Dear Leon Franklin, if you are reading this I have perished one way or another, this note will go to your first born son.

They brought me back to life with unexpected consequences, the phantom.

I have a secret, I have been possessed by what I do not know, but I do know the grave danger this threat poses, I always keep a totem of undying on me, I am not dead.

 You probably got this staff from supposedly killing me, I am in most likelihood, still alive.

This news was unexpected to say the least.

I never knew that they killed my own grandfather, let alone my possessed grandfather!

The news was shocking.

I instantly told Steve and the townsfolk and they agreed to help  without question.

They are the most loyal friends I could ever have, and I haven't revealed my name to them!

I had to reveal it to them orI would almost die of guilt.

That's my name, I don’t know why I hid it so long, probably my severe trust issues. I've never fully trusted someone since my father died.

I will soon free my grandfather from the phantom that keeps possessing him.

I will free him.

                    Epilog

As the nether warriors entered the throne room they saw quite a scene.

The king was a bloody mess and as they got closer fireworks ignited.

SHEEE! 

WOOSH!

BOOM!

WEEEEE!

They were stunned when they saw the king come back to life, not knowing what a totem of undying is.

“I thought you were dead!” Said one of the two shocked warriors.

“I was, have you not heard of the totem of undying? The evokers have mastered life and death, potions, and magic.” Said the king while getting up.

“Get the army ready!’ the king barked at the wariors.

‘Sir yes sir!” The warriors said while chaotically running out.

“Time for payback…” the king said in an evil voice.

“Time for payback indeed.” Said the king before letting out a maniacal laugh.

“HA HA HA HA!’

“HA HA HA HA!’

“Coughs.”

“HA HA HA HA!”
