Bellonese and Rennellesa were all the first members of a nuclear family according to their abilities. The women did all the work of the house, like cooking, plaiting of baskets and mats, and the child-rearing, while men did the work out of the house, as fishing, hunting, canoe carving, and distribution of harvested crops. This change when their star to have gradual equalization between the sexes, Therefore, Women and men receive the same education, and they can have equality in the employment. But, in the political situation, men will always be the leaders. 

An interesting practice in this culture is medicine. They believe that they cannot prevent the disease by avoiding some foods or praying to supernatural beings. In the Christian era, the Islanders haven’t medicine practices, because they believe that the gods took care of life, health, and death. What they always used and are still using are hot stones, coconut oil, message, and green leaves, with the purpose of reducing abortions and treating some illnesses. 

It also opens your mind in so many ways which will help you see the world from different perspectives. It can also help you understand how the world works and how the human being is in a different environment. Furthermore, it can help you learn there is way more than where you have lived and teach you things you did not know before which can help you improve some things you would like to change and admire from that culture. In terms of languages, it is also very important as knowing other languages such as English is very crucial nowadays in the whole world as it is the main and most spoken language in the world. 

Learning other languages will help your brain develop in different ways and faster and you get to know different cultures you actually get the chance to choose and compare them so you learn the language you think it’s best for you. 

Knowing other cultures just gives you the chance to compare them and learn the things you like and admire the most from each one of them.

If we talk a little about religion we can determine that in Bellona and Rennell the majority are Christians, unlike in Colombia, most of the citizens are Catholics but there are also many other religions such as Jehovah's Witnesses. Another part of the population considers itself atheist.

In both the chosen religion and here, we have seen that marriage is accepted.The difference is that in Bellona and Rennell there is a tradition and that is that married couples always go to live near their father's house, whereas in Colombia this hardly happens.
