Candidates should prepare for the video segment by becoming familiar with the recording device and exporting the video. Candidates should also make sure video release forms have been signed by parents of all students in the video. In case audio is not sufficient, the candidate may want to enable captions for the video. The candidate should perform a test run prior to the lesson to make sure audio and video is performing at optimal conditions.

Co-Teaching Model

Co-teaching is where the student teacher and partnership teacher collaboratively create and share responsibilities. This could be one teacher teaching a lesson and the other teacher working with a small group, teaching together as one, one observing while one teaches, etc. This allows for more feedback, inclusion, and accomplishment of multiple tasks. The student teacher is still responsible for planning, instructing, and assessing the class during the edTPA segment.
