Inspired by ancient ruins slowly reclaimed by nature, I wanted to create something that feels like a forgotten forest temple—a place for climbing, scratching, resting and exploring.

Today I transformed an empty Gu dessert jar (one of my favourite desserts) into a glowing keepsake lantern inspired by memories, nature and the beauty hidden in everyday objects.

This piece combines flowers gifted to me by my daughter-in-law with olive leaves that had naturally fallen from my garden tree.

I added touches of sparkle using old nail polish and sealed everything to preserve the design.

Using everyday waste materials such as water bottles, wallpaper samples, cardboard boxes and bottle lids, they designed their own colourful jewellery, keyrings and working fidget spinners.

It was wonderful to see how simple materials, that would usually be thrown away, were transformed into unique creations while developing creativity, problem-solving and confidence.
