Ali is very integrated in the beginning and slowly he becomes more and more muslim. He gives away his things, which he was very dependent on in the past, and his father can not understand what is happening with ham. 
Parvez:
The father is very integrated in the western society, and he tries his best to be integrated. He feels that since he is in the country, he should also be a part of it. Therefore he doesn't understand why his son is taking the part that he is.
