Nevethless, this tale had been adapted through time and therefore it has many versions.

The Grimm brothers made a recopilation of some of the versions of this tale for finally creating Cinderella. For example, in the story created by the Grimm's, on the part when two pigeons take off the eyes of the step-sisters the Grimm's take into account physical torture (present in some medieval versions of the story).

In the Grimm's Cinderella the loss of her mother affected her life a lot, she visited every day in her grave and the birds that were like angels to here were met at the tree planted just in a side of her grave, different from the one of the oral tradition that the death of her mother is just mentioned.
