The Scotch Irish immigration to America was mainly due to the Irish linen trade. The linen trades were well established in America. The Scotch and the Irish hated living under British rule. America was favorable to them because of the cheep prices of land and the freedom it offered. They also shared similar religion and culture to the colonist. There were risks associated to the immigration to America because of the dangers associated with the frontier lands of Pennsylvania and western Virginia. These dangers were posed by Native American Indians because of close proximity of each culture.
