Met with my Coachee and we talked for an hour today brainstorm several challenges she wanted to tackle. She was told to sleep on it tonight and email with the final chose and I would format it into a smart goal.

By the end of quarter one, 70 percent of students will be on task as measured during one class session (The percentage of students on task will be calculated as the average of three measurements taken during a single classroom visit).

Teacher Goal

By the end of Quarter 1, I will increase students’ mastery of chemical bonding concepts so that at least 80% of the class scores 75% or higher on the unit test, through the use of strategies that are appropriate for MLs who have a WIDA level of 1.9 or higher.

Step 1:

Effectively utilize the attention getter we practiced:

“Voices off, eyes on me in 3…2…1.. (exaggerated scanning then…) good”)

Step 2:

Effectively utilize the attention getting with positive narration and standing still until direction is fully given. (We are noticing a tendency to move around a lot when we are trying to get attention- better to square up and deliver)

Goal: to work on improving opportunities for student voice, inquiry and engagement.
