Both are great for communicating with your students as a group. Use announcements to keep everyone on track and up to day on the course information. Use Discussions to encourage students participation, give and receive feedback, and collect data to adjust your course if needed.

Assignments

Where are they located? What are the instructions and when are they due? Those are key questions that students will face when thinking on the assigned work in your course. Organize and write clear instructions, your students will be glad!

Quizzes

Quizzes are a great way to gauge your students' progress and learning. Cool features in Canvas: upload quiz files, set the day and time the quiz will be available, assign extra time to a specific student, set automatic grading after attempt, and much more!

Course Navigation is the list of links on the left side of the course that lets you access the different course areas. You can reorder and hide navigation links!
