During Porfiriato Mexico was considered the Paris of America due to the influence from French art. New styles of music became famous during this era. Painters and architects created beautiful landscapes such as Palace of Fine Arts, The Postal Palace, the Angel of Independence monument, The Revolution Monument, among others. The two things that were more remarkable was the journalism that helped the dictatorship of Porfirio. Some artists migrated to the city to photograph "the Porfirian imagery."

Education during this era progressed a lot since Porfirio Diaz implemented the use of books based on science, he made it possible for people who didn't have an education to have one. In 1910 a law is created (Ley Constitutiva de la Escuela Nacional de Altos Estudios) to make better schools and opportunities.

Latin American History
Encyclopedia

Mexico News Network (http://www.mexiconewsnetwork.com/art-culture/mex-during-porfirio/)
Website/Article

Historia de México (http://historiamexico2.blogspot.mx/2008/09/educacion-durante-el-porfiriato.html)
Blog

We believe Porfirio Diaz was a hero for Mexico. By seeing the facts on how he wanted Mexico to industrialize itself, progress, and be a first world nation. During the time he was in power, we can notice that Mexico grew its economy and it implemented new things that are useful even today. Without forgetting that he was a dictator, we think that that was the best type of governing Mexico because at that time, Mexico was lost, and someone firm and in power had to arrange the things that were not in place, causing labor force to be extreme and having discontent of the people.
