When a bomb explodes, lots of evidence is left behind. DNA, fingerprints, and other various residues are included. This group not only trains FBI agents but they also investigate various explosive related crime scenes. This includes completed and active bombings, as well as bomb factories. After a bomb goes off, chemicals, fingerprints, DNA, tool markings, and electronic data is left behind. This allows bomb scenes to be linked together and can catch "serial bombers" if you will. This left behind evidence can also determine how the bomb was constructed. This knowledge can prevent future bombings and lead to development of new tools to disable or counteract bombs.
