Teacher asked me to talk about a strong woman, and for that, no one is better than my mom. She is the strongest woman I ever met in my life. When I was a baby, she and dad managed their business and 2 children at the same time! The enterprise started 5 years before i was born and then they managed everything together and raised all this with much love, work and dedication. My mom never gave attention to these opinions that women have to stay at home and do home services. She loves computers, the internet and being connected with everything. Everything I know I learned with her and I think there’s no woman better than her. You should know her story and learn a lot of things with her. And a final word: her heart is the biggest and she always helps everyone with all that she can, either what she can’t do.

American Grace Hopper (1906–1992) was an admiral in the United States Navy and a computer scientist who was one of the first programmers for the Harvard Mark I computer, which was a general purposes electromechanical computer used in the war effort for World War II, according to San Diego Supercomputer Center. In 1944, she created a 500-page Manual of Operations for the Automatic Sequence-Controlled Calculator for the computer, which detailed the foundational operating principles of computing machines.

Of course she went through a lot of difficulties (like women in tech world) by lack of motivation and depreciation from the people for thinking programming is not "women things". Even though she invented Flow-Matic, the first programming language that used English words for data processing. Murray's creation was one of the influences to COBOL, programming language used nowadays in tech area.
That is amazing! A woman that was pioneer in programming world.

- Samuel Silva de Souza - RA 19307

It always had a huge imbalance between women's salary and men's salary. The women earn less than men. This difference has changing with time but it's quite big yet.

According IBGE researches, in 1980 the women received 68% of men's salary. 30 years after, this numbers changed a little: raised to 77,7% but it still is a bad statistic. We need to change it and it is going to happen with the time. We all hope that with all the fight for their rights the women end in a better situation. Only remains for what do our part and make some difference in this unbalanced world.

In Brazil, only 17% of programmers are women. This profession is highly chosen by men, but not much women choose this one. This is our history. What you may don't know, is that a lot of important people in the computing world was women, some of them are Ada Lovelace, Grace Hopper, Katherine Johnson, Margaret Hamilton and many more! These statistics are changing and we believe in a world with more girl coding and making part of our history! "Code like a girl"
