My parents were in the process of getting divorced. My mom had tried to unalive herself. My mom ended up going to the mental hospital twice within the span of a few months. At this time in my life it felt like everything I ever knew/had was crumbling apart. My mom ran off to live with her boyfriend and I don't have a lot of contact with her. From this moment on it was just me and my dad. This truly taught me the importance of family over possessions.
