In addition to painting, she enjoys a variety of sensory and tactile activities. She eagerly explores different textures and materials, including glue, sand, playdough, rice and textured papers, using her hands and tools to create interesting effects. She enjoys rolling, pinching, cutting and shaping playdough, as well as experimenting with sponges, brushes and other tools to apply paint in creative ways. Mika’s curiosity, imagination and willingness to try new techniques highlight her developing artistic skills and her ability to express herself visually. Her confidence, creativity and joy in art make her work truly delightful.

She demonstrates a good understanding of basic mathematical concepts such as big and small, long and short, and heavy and light, using these terms correctly during both play and structured activities. For example, she might say, “This toy is heavier,” or “Mine is the longest!” Mika is also developing her sorting, matching and categorising skills, confidently grouping objects such as blocks, buttons or beads according to size, shape or colour.

In addition, she enjoys simple patterning activities, comparing quantities and exploring positional concepts such as “in,” “on,” and “under,” which help her understand relationships between objects. Her curiosity, enthusiasm and growing confidence in handling numbers and mathematical ideas are laying a solid foundation for her future learning. Excellent work, Mika!
