1986- They pass 1 billion dollars 
1987- They release the Nike Air Max
1988- The " Just do it" slogan is introduced.
1994-1996- Signs many people to nike.

The founder Knight wanted to name it  Diminison 6 because his love for the pop group 5th dimension was so strong. Another name that came up was Peregrine. They also liked this name because it would compete with a common german brand. Also " Bengal" was another one that was based off of a german brand. They wanted to go for a name that had an exoctic letter in it like "x" "z" or "y". One day one of the founding people woke up and thought of " Nike" the greek goddess of victory. He called his boss and told him. Most of the team including the founder didn't like the name. They had a meeting and talked about all of the options. They had a dead line to submit the name by.
