My school allowed us to use text messages as a form of communication. I was able to translate my messages to spanish before sending them and then I could translate their messages to English. This made communication so much easier between the parent and I. I think they really appreciated the extra effort when they realized that I have to use a translator and that I could only text in Spanish.
