Finally, it is also about them making a law to ban anyone from hunting Great White Sharks, mainly to conserve these majestic creatures. A connection that I had with this article is that I am deadly afraid of sharks and apparently their scared of me too.

This very interesting article was about how fungi a glowing type thing could shape the future with it’s brightness. Bioluminescent creatures produce this light by a chemical reaction. Close to 80% of bioluminescent creatures live in our ocean. Most of them use it for hunting, communication, mating, or self- defense. Take the Vampire squid for example it releases a cloud of light to confuse a predator when threatened. My connection with this would be with fireflies, because if you takes it glower off it will still glow after it’s been taken off of it’s body. Yes, I know that’s gross but it’s still very interesting.

It explained how the sun reflects off the ice to make the air cooler but the ice is melting causing the air to be warmer than usual. Global warming is why ships are getting through the Northwest Passage so easily. Soon arctic animals will die because there is no place cool enough for them to live. It will be easier for ships to go through the arctic. My connection is that last years winter was very mild and their was hardly any snow. I think this was because of global warming.

"Hurricane Harvy has a Large Impact on Not Just Humans but Animals Who are Also Trying to survive."

-Chandler D. Hickman

The article "Texas flooding also displacing snakes, fire ants and alligators" is manly about Hurricane Harvey. Hurricane Harvey is a very recant hurricane which impacted a lot of people with lots and plenty of rain and flooding in Texas, Florida and other places near that specific place. As people are affected
and trying to find a higher ground, so are animals. There are animals like raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, and other commonly known animals. Mainly and most devastated are those of not so friendly or cute animals. The animals spotted of the bad bunch or not so cute or friendly animals are Fire-ants, American-alligators, and lots of snakes. These animals are also trying to survive as well as the people in Texas.
There are animals either in a garage or attic in the Texan's homes. There are snakes that slither up the walls of their homes. The Fire-ants work together in colonies ant build rafts that really float upon the bad and devastating floods. The article connects with me by very few reasons and examples. The main example of the connection of the article is that in March I went to that exact are in Texas and went through Houston to go to a antique fair with my younger brother and mother. The weather was just very humid and hot it rained only a little bit, but other than that it was great. Anything could happen though and I am realizing that very clearly.

-Chandler D.

This is a story abut Amelia Earhart, back in the year of 1937. Amelia wanted to make history. Even though she was the first female to fly a plane, yet she still wanted more. So she decided that she want to explore the globe, so she her and her co-pilot Fred Noonan would fly around the world. They took off on June 1st 1937 in Miami Florida. During their trip, Amelia's plane started to run low on fuel. She contacted the US Coastal Guard Ship for help. Sadly it was too late. Her plane crashed on an island called New Guinea. That was the last time they've heard from Amelia Earhart. 80 years later, scientist are still looking for remains of Amelia Earhart.
Harvey is also displacing snakes, fire ants, and gators By: Jazmine Armijo

The article, Harvey is also displacing snakes, fire ants, and gators, is about how harvey is making it harder for people to survive, it is harming animals as well. There are hundreds of thousands of aligators in Texas. Just like humans, during a hurricane we have to get to higher land. Aligators have to go the same because they cant live in hard rain water that is flooding the swamps. People are reporting gators in their back yard but they wont remove it unless it is life threatining because its hard to get there and they are running out of resources. As for snakes, they are swimming through the water to get to higher land. Most of the snakes in Texas can swim so in order to survive they have to swim to higher land. The snakes aren't a big threat because only five out of the twenty three species of snakes are venomous. As unlikely as it seems fire ants are the biggest threat. Just one bite could possibly lead to death. during floods they are the most likely to survive because the ants create floating rafts when they emerge from the ground. There are other animals such as deer who are trying their best to seek higher land but most likely the waters will drown them before they make it . Smaller rodents like bats are finding their way into homes as a way to stay dry. once the hurricane is over the animals will retreat to their normal habit.

Wildfires blazing all over By: Maguire Truax

As the western portion of the United States enters their own season they call peak wildfire season, thousands of firefighters across that area are working hard to keep it from disturbing lives of not only us, but wildlife too. California however has been hit likely the hardest, with nine wildfires currently blazing in the great state. With experts saying July and August are the busiest times of year for wildfires, they also predict more blazes are on the way. States in the northwest, like Washington and Montana, have also been challenged by these blazes. With lightning strikes sparking fires all over Montana, Washington also has two wildfires that are blazing through itself. At this point you may be asking, “What fuels these fires?”, well the answer is quite simple. Despite all of the rain and water you would think get rid of the fire, it actually fuels the fire. Rain is causing vegetation which the fire is fueled off of. In hot blistering conditions, all of the vegetation dries out and the fire has no more fuel.
