Events - hold lots of events for staff and postgraduate students. We have a programme called Research Bites which take place over the summer and then take part in others events, e.g., Research induction; Research Week, etc

We provide resources for undergraduates and postgraduates. We provide training for all students and postgraduates in information literacy, evaluation and database use to find resources. We need to communicate with the student body over Canvas and create some online backup information literact training for the coming year and employ a flipped classroom approach to our teaching. We also welcome feedback from students and suggestions for online learning tools. We would like to have a space for employability resources and information for staff where they could access best practice examples, toolkits, policies etc. We are involved in some assessment via partnership modules we run with academic colleagues. Submissions are online and text based. As Katharine has already said, we link with RIS and this will increase moving forward. 

We provide training/development opportunities targeted at research/academic staff.  The majority of events I organize are for PGR students, some PGT students and a training programme for supervisors. 

We need to communicate text, messages, images and videos etc. 
The sign-ups for the majority of our courses happen via research compass. We did try to use sign-ups for Postgraduate Skills Week in December 2017 and it didn’t work well at all. We have evaluation forms but these don’t feature on Canvas. 

We had also tried using the announcements on Canvas to communicate with the PGR and PGT students but the general consensus was they preferred emails. This may be helped by a more joined up approach across the board which can only be a good thing.

This is currently done via email but new GDPR rules impact my ability to have a dedicated spreadsheet of all student email address, and the portal is cumbersome, as students are then more likely to get multiple emails, depending upon their core/elective module choices.

A summary of this information is also circulated to academic colleagues to share through classroom activities, but more effective way of sharing this would be useful.
