 I think chess became popular among many cultures because it is a challenging game that keeps changing depending on the player and so, keeps people interested.

Depending on where the people who play it are, their language, the animals of the region and the way their political system is structured, people will name the pieces and make it look like things they know or see everyday.

As was mentioned in the video, at the time, powerful female figures were showing up and queens became the right-hand person to the king.

As different things and stories move around, people adapt them to fit their culture and language. And even within cultures, this changes over time.

2. I think chess pieces was crafted in different ways because different cultures wanted to customize the game to better fit their own beliefs and traditions. These different adaptations could've been influenced by games that existed in cultures prior to chess.

At that time, chess could be used as a method to test the knowledge ranking of someone; therefore, making them "better" than the rest. It was like a disruptive innovation or a fab that carried on throughout generations.

2. Colloquial terms within two or more countries are different. Due to cultural influence, it would natural that the pieces would have names native to the country or area. 

3. There was an uprise of strong female leaders; therefore, many thought it would be fitting to name the chess piece as such.

4. The game spread from one area to another morphing with the cultural attitudes of each place. I think chess became popular across so many countries because its such a complicated game and if someone won, you also would want to win. 

In different places, there are different languages and cultures and political systems. 

Strong women were coming into power so it was fitting. 

This tells us how the game and rules are the same, however the pieces and people who play it are from different places and speak different languages.

2) I feel as time evolved, and names got translated in different langues they started to change. I feel that they were crafted in different ways because different geographical areas have different opinions. They would change what they didn't like about the previous one.
