The Korean war was a war between north Korea and south Korea that started in 1950, on June 25th. This war was an invasion from the north part of Korea to the south, this is when america stepped in to defend south Korea. According to history.com, ¨As far as American officials were concerned, it was a war against the forces of international communism itself¨, (History). The fight continued leading to fatalities not only for Korea but the U.S as well, this fight was happening all over the 38 parallel. As the fight was going on, American officials tried to find a deal/armistice with the Koreans. Both sides fought for what they believed in but the U.S believed that this fight may lead to something bigger and much worse, World War lll. According to History.com, about 5 million soldiers lost their lives and the war is seen as the forgotten war, (History).
