    These amendments in my opinion are the most important. Both come from the Bill of Rights portion of the constitution. The first amendment is the most important in my opinion because it prevents the governement from infringing on citizens individuality and their right to stand up for themselves., the most important part being "protects freedom of speech and press" . The first amendment has played a major role in the advancement of marginalized people in the U.S. by allowing them to have a voice and protest against the injustices they have faced historically . These groups include minorities, and LGBTQ individuals.

  • The president in the executive branch can veto a law but the legislative branch can override the veto.

The fourth amendment is one of the most important in my opinion because it protects citizens from a sometimes unfair police force. The thought behind this reform is that replacing the electoral college with a direct vote would force campaigns to treats states more equally, and this would reduce the ability to influence national results through corruption at the state level. I agree with this idea, because it just doesn't make since to continue on with the electoral college, especially since none of the reasons why it was enacted are still in place, such as slavery, and a the lack of accessibility to information. I also think that it would increase voter turnout drastically, because a lot of people especially young adults and minorities (the two groups with the lowest voter turnout) believe that there vote does not count.
