When people drive they are getting rid of oil from their cars and it gets run into the water from the rain. When scientist took tests, it was proven that there was car oil in the water.

The oil can cause plants not to grow, so the fish wouldn't have food. Even when the algae blooms, still the oil kills all the bacteria and algae for the plants to grow.

Too much runoff happens so it causes sediment to go into the water, many places causes sediment like runoff, the farm, clear cut forest and parallel park. Sediment is causing the most problems in the Gray Bay area. The sediment problems come from many different source. It comes from cars, parks, forests, cities and farms. Sediment causes the water to have less oxygen. Less oxygen in the water means the fish do not have enough air to breathe which makes them suffocate. The hunters and lumberjacks are the ones causing the most problems for sediment.
