"We know these early Americans hunted with wooden spears and arrows." "We know this because archaeologists have found stone points." "They used clay and stones to make ornaments and tools." The primary source supports the evidence the secondary source because as you can see in the photo, it shows the stone points that the Cahokia tribe used for making spears and arrows. The picture also shows that they made many things with clay and stone, such as bowls and small circles. The secondary source is historically reliable based on the primary source I have selected because it clearly shows in this photo that there are indeed points, ornaments, and bowls that the Cahokia tribe has made from stone and clay.

"The Adena and Hopewell also built mysterious mounds." "These mounds were very large." "Some mounds were built in the shapes of animals." The primary source supports the evidence that the Cahokia tribe built mounds sometimes in the shape of animals. The source also supports the evidence that the mounds were very large because this mound in particular is named the Great Serpent mound, which is 3 feet high and 1,300 feet long. The secondary source is historically accurate because the primary source shows that they did make mounds in the shape of animals and that they did make them very large.

"Scientists have determined that the Adena and Hopewell lived in cone-shaped homes made of sticks, bark, and willow." The primary source supports the evidence that the Cahokia tribe lived in homes that were cone-shaped and built out of sticks because the picture shows that the houses were cone-shaped and were built out of stick-like material. The secondary source is historically accurate because it says they live in cone-shaped homes built out of sticks, and the picture shows that.

"They built these communities into the sides of cliff walls." "Some of the dwellings were as tall as four stories." "They often had terraces on the higher levels." The primary source supports the evidence that they built communities and that there were terraces on the upper floors because it clearly shows that in the picture. However, I don't believe that some of the dwellings could be as tall as 4 stories because the cliff shown in the photo looks very small and impossible to fit 4 stories worth of buildings. I believe that that statement is historically inaccurate based on the photo.

"The Ancestral Pueblo lived in the southwest from around 100 to 1600." "But much of their land was dry." The primary source supports the evidence that they lived in a dry area and that they lived in the southwest because this photo was taken in California, which is part of the Southwest. The secondary source is historically accurate because the primary source shows that they did live in a harsh, dry environment and that they did live in southwestern United States.

"They also made many useful things out of clay found in the ground." The primary source supports the secondary source because they did make things out of clay, like this grinding stone in the photo. The secondary source is historically accurate because they did make useful things from clay as shown in this photo.
