Initial Reaction - Good lord this is heavy... but exciting too!
Comments - None
Common threads- This Sterling High shooting is way smaller than what happened at Columbine... Only one guy with a pistol and one explosion, compared to two guys with a huge loadout of weapons and explosives, yeah it's smaller...

Initial Reaction- Good book so far.
Comments- None
Common Thread- They are both very similar because they both involve a school shooting but in the novel Nineteen Minutes there is only one guy with a gun. What happened at the Columbine High School involved two guys with dufflebags full of weapons. Both of the school shootings with in the book and in actual life caused many lives to be changed and even lives lost.

My Initial Reaction: This story is kind of intense and I love it.
My comments: I've got none.
The common threads: the shooting that took place in the book wasn't as big as the other Sterling high, with one guy with a pistol compared to two guys with bombs and rifles.

I'm enjoying this book very much, and it has caught me off guard a few times, especially when the shooter was Peter.

Yesterday's reading was very intriguing. I loved how they went back in time to when Lacy had baby Peter and how Alex was pregnant and had Josie. I was also pretty shocked to find out that Alex wanted to abort Josie at first.

The common threads between Columbine and Sterling High is that there were
shootings in both and it was a large school

The novel is very intense and some what chaotic, however it is very good. I really loved the flashback of yesterday's reading because it gave a much larger insight to the characters than in the previous chapter. Some common threads between Columbine and Sterling High are that the shooters seemed to have wanted revenge on their peers.

Initial reactions- The layout of the story and also the content are very chaotic, so many things jump back and forth and happen at seemingly the same time.
The schools are similar in that they both have very split dynamics. They both have clicks that cause bullying and problems.

My initial reaction to the novel was that it is very interesting and there the characters go back and forth very often, it also has surprises and plot twists that I wasn't expecting. Yesterday's reading shocked me a little bit because I didn't think that Alex did not want her baby at first and that the baby's father was her law professor. Yesterday's reading was interesting to see the back story of Alex and to learn a bit about Lacy as well. The common thread was that both were shootings took place in a large school and the shootings were done by students, not outside people.

Initial reaction- seems like Peter must have dealt with a lot to have come to a breaking point of committing the crime of a school shooting.
Comments-I'm honestly glad Officer Patrick was able to get Peter to not commit suicide, and how he was able to save josie.

Columbine
Large school
Two people
Committed suicide and did bombs
Many different guns

Sterling High
Large School
One person
Prevented from committing suicide
No traps
Pistol
