One of the most important myths for egyptians is in the Osiris myth Osiris decided that the egyptians were lawless and uncivilized and he gave them laws, the egyptian culture, religious instruction, and agriculture. Under Osiris rule, Egypt became a paradise where everyone was equal and there was abundant food as the crops were always plentiful. This relates to me because I set rules for my brothers who are lawless until I give them rules. An example of this is my brother would annoy each other by mimicking one another and I would have to make them sit down and tell them the rules (such as no mimicking) and punishments (like they go to their rooms), if the rules were broken. When Osiris attempted to bring order to the egyptians he created a paradise where everyone was equal and there was a lot of food. This relates to the egyption value of order because I brought order to my brothers constant chaos by putting them in their rooms and keeping them their until they calm down. This will stop them from doing anything chaotic for a while (or at least an hour).

Hinduism

One of the most important myths in hinduism is the souls karma follows them from one life to another. The better karma they have the higher caste they get put in and by following the caste system, Hindus create harmony within society. Every caste fulfills their dharma for the benefit of all and it helped get you in a higher caste. The higher the cast the closer they are to achieving moksha and getting released from the life cycle. People will want to have good karma and get closer to achieving moksha, so they are good in their first life. This relates to me because sometimes I do good things because I don’t want to face the consequences. An example of this is I will help my brothers or be nice to them so nothing bad, like stubbing my toe or losing something, would happen to me. My brothers and I would do our chores so our family will benefit like dharma benefitted the hindus. My personal connection relates to the value of order and harmony because if my brothers and I do are chores our entire family will benefit from it. It was also order because my brothers and I would be scared of the consequences such as losing privileges and we will not do anything bad and abide to the rules and that creates order in our chaos.

Some big ideas in christianity is the Golden Rule, it said “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” There are other ideas in christianity like show peace and forgiveness, don’t categorize people. I always try to treat others kindly because that is the way I would want to be treated and I would show peace and forgiveness, and I wouldn’t categorize people. An example is I would help an old lady cross the street and help someone pick up their belongings if they dropped them. My personal connection goes with the egyption value of harmony because all humans will treat each other kindly if they follow the golden rule, won’t categorize people, and show peace and forgiveness.

Mayas tried to be good so they don’t get hurt by the bad god. I try to be good because I don’t want to get in trouble from my parents or other people. An example of this is listening to what my parents tell me, so I don’t get scorned or lose anything.

One of the most important traditions that the greek do are worshipping deities by making sanctuaries to show there gratitude to their gods and sacrificing animals to their gods like oxen, goats, and sheep. I worship g-d by going to synagogue and praying and doing mitzvot. An example of a simple Mitzvot is holding the door open for someone and complimenting someone. An example of a bigger mitzvah is raising money/shaving your hair for saint baldricks and give things such as backpacks/school supplies and food to the less fortunate. My personal connection goes with the value of gratitude because I am worshipping g-d who gave me many things such as a good life.
