To get there:

1) Log into iready (see a cohort teammate or Ms. Boelsen for access if you are not a math or ELA teacher)

2) Click: Reports-> Class -> Instructional groupings -> Math or Reading

STEP 1: Use the “Student Buy-in Lesson Plan Addendum” above before any day’s lesson to tease out the details to the lesson’s What, Why, and Big Picture. ***If you can’t answer these questions can you modify the lesson to make it more meaningful? Is this lesson an essential component for student learning?*** 

STEP 2: Use the addendum on your smart board and prompt students with the guiding questions to answer the three components What, Why, and Big Picture. The key is to make this routine but even on the first attempt you may be pleasantly surprised by student contributions! If not, don't be afraid to model the answers to each question prompt. I can see this being challenging for a very specific math unit or science lesson. STEP 3: Carry on with your lesson as planned!
