31/01/2025 - Teamwork Reflection

At our first meeting, we thoroughly discussed our ideas for a potential solution for the issue raised in this assignment. I decided to lay out a range of ideas into a Word document created by my colleague and organised it so it would make it easy to refer back to. This allowed me to enhanced my problem-solving skills, as well as display clear and structured communication. I also displayed strong organisational and critical thinking skills by analysing potential issues with the ideas we raised and displaying them coherently. This proved useful later on, as our team found it easy to refer back to the points and to implement their own individual ideas.

07/02/2025 - Debating issues with our project

Today we began debating the issues raised by our supervisor regarding our idea and identifying potential solutions. As a result, I had to adapt quickly to ensure our idea remained relevant. This experience helped me to develop my critical thinking and adaptability skills by encouraging me to propose solutions to the problems identified. To support this, I researched various maps (as shown in posts dated 07/02/2025) and consulted scientific information to ensure our ideas were both realistic and reliable. To enable a successful critical evaluation of solutions as a team, I maintained a consistent and clear communication. Furthermore, by thinking creatively, I was able to develop new solutions and adapt our existing ideas to create a more successful project, while actively listening to my teammates suggestions and ensuring everyone was satisfied with the progress we were making.

21/02/2025 - Looking for questions for the management team at Leckford Estate

Today, we focused on developing questions to ask the management team at the Waitrose farm. This required a strong questioning and critical mindset, which I believe I was able to demonstrate effectively. In order to formulate the best questions to help us with our project, I displayed clear communication skills towards my teammates, collaborating continuously within our group. I raised concerns about certain questions while also being attentive to other's ideas, ensuring that everyone felt heard, and integrating their suggestions into our final set of questions. As a result, we reached a clear consensus on a range of important questions, which was later proved highly relevant during our visit to the Leckford Estate.

28/02/2025 - Leckford Estate Fieldtrip

During the Leckford Fieldtrip, I ensured that our group remained together and encouraged the expression of any new ideas and concerns relating to the new information we were receiving and how it could be incorporated into our current project design. Some of the team members felt nervous about the changes, which I addressed by reassuring them that we would resolve any issues with our project. I listened attentively to the information been presented throughout the day and used my critical thinking skills and creativity to propose potential solutions to any limitations arising from the new information gathered.

I organised my notes into thematic categories to ensure they would be easy to refer back to at a later date.

Furthermore, I kept my team updated, comparing the information from our notes to make sure we were all aligned and that no one felt left out or confused. At the end of the day, I checked with everyone and to confirm they were satisfied with the day's progress and prepared the following meeting.

07/03/2025 - Using notes to enhance our project

After the fieldtrip, we gathered all the information from our notes and integrated the most useful elements into our project. At this point, the team became somewhat demotivated as we almost had to rethink our entire project to align with Waitrose's values and practices. However, I consistently contributed and identified opportunities within our notes to reshape the project. This helped to re-engage the team and ensured everyone was involved in work they found enjoyable. As highlighted during previous weeks, problem-solving was crucial during this task, as we encountered several challenges that needed to be addressed to ensure the success of our project and to capture the utmost interest of the Waitrose team. In the end, the team and I successfully adapted to these challenges and resolved the issues raised during the trip.

14/03/2025 - 21/03/2025 - Preparation for the presentation

During the following two weeks, we met up weekly to make sure everyone was on the right track, and to decide the look, sequence and style of the presentation. The team became confused as no one knew which slide they would dedicate to. However, I stepped in and talked individually to each person and by understanding their individual skills we dedicated specific, depending on which topic they were the most interested. I made sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone was happy with the outcome of the presentation. I used my creativity skills to make sure the PowerPoint slides looked professional, adding animations to enhance the importance of each point and to keep the audience engaged. We all finalised the design of our project which was then put into a visual image created by Siddhanta. I made sure to express my satisfaction with the outcome of the visual design and to also express any concerns raised by me or other team members and resolve any lasting issues.

24/04/2025 - Waitrose Presentation and Assessment Centre

On the day of the presentation, we encountered a significant challenge that we had not anticipated. One of our team members failed to attend, leaving us without a crucial contributor to the presentation. As a result, we had to adapt immediately, which left some of our team members anxious. As in previous stressful situations, I sat down individually with my team members, made sure they were alright, and discussed their key strengths and weaknesses and how the absence might affect their contributions. After a thorough conversation and collaboration we reached a unanimous consensus, and I took responsibility for presenting one of his slides. Our adaptability and resilience were later recognised and praised by our assessors. Despite the sudden changes, the presentation went smoothly and resulted in a successful outcome.

During my presentation and assessment centre my weaknesses and strengths were assessed, and these are the outcomes:

Strengths:

Adaptability and resilience

Enterprising

Creative Problem-Solving

Questioning mindset

Weaknesses:

Self-awareness

Collaboration

Although I was able to collaborate effectively within my original group, when faced with new challenges within team members to whom I had no prior connection, it became more difficult to demonstrate that skill. Developing the ability to collaborate effectively with unfamiliar colleagues is crucial and will be highly beneficial in future professional environments.

Similarly, my self-awareness was limited in the new group setting, which meant I was less able to encourage contributions from quieter members of the team.
