We were surprised to find ourselves locked out of our usual meeting hall at Versailles. We then realized we would never get what we wanted: equality, with the way we are being out voted by the first and the second estate. After some thought we found ourselves in an indoor tennis court. Here we sat and began to create a new constitution for France. I am hoping King Louis XVI listens to what we have to say and helps the third estate. We believe we have a voice and should be treated equally like the first and second estate. I agree with many of the thinkers that have come before me. I have the most respect for men like Voltaire and I truly believe we need to fight for what he believed in and fight for our god given rights that we receive when we are born."

I was trying to celebrate Marie's quarter birthday in Versailles and I hear of this in Bastille. This crowd came armed with muskets and swords and stormed an armed, royal prison. I cannot deny that many criticized this prison. But I believe they are foolish in their criticism. This prison holds and has held many who have gone against what we believe in. Many who slandered our ideals were placed in Bastille. My people were killed and injured by this act. This is a hideous representation of us as French people and this is not what we do. I must be getting back to this party, but I am planning on visiting Paris shortly to see what is going on. Stay safe, stay smart."

I believe this document holds the core statements of the values of the French people. I was not alone in writing this, with great help from Marquis de Lafayette and great inspiration from the United States in their Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence we were able to create a historical document. With an emphasis on freedoms and equality for men, this revolutionary document emerges from thinkers like Voltaire who emphasized many of these ideals in our new declaration. I believe this is a step in the direction of forming a new constitution for France. I hope the National Assembly adopts this declaration and begins to incorporate these ideals into a constitution beneficial for all."

If they wanted bread they could've just asked. Now we must move back to Paris, that place is disgusting! It is nothing like my amazing home in Austria. Those people would have never pulled something like this. Let these people eat what they want, let them eat bread, let them eat and be happy. But let them do so under my husbands rule. As we approached safety we were stopped and questioned. We were recognized and taken back to Paris where my father and mother are being harshly crucified for these actions. I would have to be naive to think that everything will be the same. It would be foolish to believe that the people of France still support my father. I now have greater fear for our lives. They are threatening to charge my father with treason. Threatening to send him to the guillotine, they are trying to take him away from me. I fear what these people will do to my father, I fear for my family, and for my life."

King Louis XVI was a good man, but leading was ultimately too much for him. I believe more of these executions must occur. People who speak out against what we believe in should not be allowed to live. Allowing them to live would be a crime committed by all of us. Any political opponents should be sent to the guillotine. We must focus our goals on the education of our people, and we must punish those oppressing humanity. I believe we can create a society where equality for all men is not in question. We must restore the ideas held within the D.O.R.O.M.A.C and the ideas spoken by those who have come before us, especially the ideas of Voltaire. We must have our freedoms. We must be able to believe what we want and we must be able to say what we want. Being punished for our beliefs is how people like Robespierre come to power. He is not the leader we need, he is not the leader we want. He is a tyrant. A man who punishes other men for criticism should not be a man of power. A change is essential. We must live in fear no more, we must fight for our speech, and we must fight for our freedoms. Robespierre's reign of terror ends here. Stand up people, stand up for our god given rights. John Locke fought for it, so why can't we? Continue the fight and stand up for what is right."

He had the right ideas in mind, I do not doubt that, but the way in which he instilled fear into his people was just wrong. Robespierre's execution was a justified action necessary in order for the people of France to acquire what they have been fighting for. Robespierre's reign has been ceased. The guillotine solidifies the end of fear that was instilled within these people. The men of France need a leader with the right values in mind and the right leadership skills. The government needed is not that of a monarch or a tyrant, but of a man who wants to ensure that the basic rights of man are carried out to all men. Unfortunately Robespierre was not that man, and the search for that man continues."
