First week on September 2014, me and my colleagues had to make some presentations based on Racism. Me, as a PE teacher, decided talk with some of  my students  and create together a short film about racism in sports. I had participated in the “ Future Classroom Scenarios ” course, so this activity it was  a chance to me to design it based on my previous knowledge.

Our steps.

Dream: Racism. We had to answer in questions like:  Have you observe racism , when and where? How did you feel about it? What is the role of Media? The role of the family? Does discrimination can grow from assumptions and stereotypes? What is stereotype? How do you act  or what would you like to do?

Students had  to: 

work together  and  discuss on the  issue of racism  

Find solutions in the given questions 

create a short film

Explore : We  had a  brainstorming and after that, students were divided into 4 small groups of 4. Each team got its own topic related to their interest, searched  in the internet for information and photos , decided what tools they were going to use and discuss ed about it.  They decided together about the most important  issues on racism which would be used for  the presentation.. The issue they discussed was racism because of religion,  race,  sex and racism in sports. They shared their ideas using their journals.

Map: Students analyzed  and shared their findings. They created a story telling.

Make: Using the imovie application they created a video. They worked all  together in creating texts between the photos and which will be their quote. What will be their message in the other students.

Ask:  Each groups asked for feedback.

Remake: They corrected  some of the texts in the movie and rewrote their conclusion

Show: They presented  their product to teachers and students.

Go animate is one of my favorite applications. Its difficult in the beggining . Its an application where students can give life in their stories. They can use if they want their voices in their heroes.Collaboaration, creativity are important parts of this activity.

One of the best is Socrative as is an interactive knowledge quiz. Students love it.

I have used applications as answergarden, Edmodo, Educreations, Anatomy 4D, colAR MIxthinglink,nearpod,tricider,smore, padlet,eye coach,podometer ,BMI calculator ,Ubersense coach and of course qr codes!!!!

There are many applications, most of them are excellent. I always try to find the one who is proper for my project.
