         <description><![CDATA[<div>So I think about this in a few different ways.<br><br>I think that it's possible that the narrator's name is not mentioned to convey that her experiences are common and regular.  She represents the experiences of many different people.<br><br>Another explanation could have to do with the gendered dynamics of the story.  The narrator is frequently ignored and overlooked while her brother is spoiled.  It makes me wonder if, by not giving her a name, Adichie is making some kind of statement about the way society treats women.  In this story, her own story, she herself does not have a name.</div>]]></description>

Some prisoner's don't have family that care about them, like the old man, so they get treated horribly.</div>]]></description>
