Finally, I painted the design with different shades of blue and silver as my secondary color. This design was made up of different lines and shapes that came together to make a diamond.

When drawing drafts of my geometric design, I had to think of a symmetrical pattern that could look cool. Once I figured out the design, I had to create a color scheme. Next, I found the slope of every line in the pattern. Finally I redrew my design on a canvas, and painted accordingly. This relates to math because I drew a design in a quadrant then reflected it, so I would only have to find the slope for half the lines.

My Inspirations were Sol Lewitt and also my peers. I started by drawing out my design on graph. This part was easy for me. Then, I copied the design onto a canvas using an 8x10 grid. Next, I started painting using pink/red colors. This part was harder for me because the paint looked wrong. Lastly, I put the line equations on my artwork.
I didn't know that there was a connection between math and art before this project. Tome, this assignment was "fun math".
If I had to do this again, I would make a simpler design so I wouldn't have as much trouble painting it.

The artistic process of creating a geometric design is very sophisticated. First, you create the linear equations. After that, you graph them on a canvas. Lastly, using tape to avoid overlapping, paint the design in a a few different colors and shades. The connection between math and art is the linear equations and working with slope just like 8th graders do in math.

When making a geometric design, there are three steps: planning, design, and create. First, you have to think of what you want to do, and find inspiration. Second, make a draft design. Third, translate the draft design onto your medium. This process has many links to math. In a geometric design, every aspect has a strict definition in math. Everything is clear-cut and derived in a form of math.
