SONG MEANING: in this song, twenty one pilots was most likely talking about how one of the artists used to be suicidal and didn’t know if he’d make it past 18, and that starting this band with his best friend helped and how he got help from that friend.  we related this to romeo and juliet because when tybolt kills romeos best friend and romeo tries to help him but he didn't get there in time to help.

SONG MEANING: This song is talking about a friend who calls another friend who going to commit suicide. During this call the person is telling them to not close their eye(die) and things will get better. Everyone needs a friend who can pick you up when you are down and you do the same for them. In situations like suicides it is very hard to pick yourself back up but with a friend it is so much easier In Romeo and Juliet if feel like Friar Lawrence is the friend trying to stop the person from committing suicide in the song. In R&J (Romeo and Juliet) Friar Lawrence even gives Juliet a potion to make her appear dead just so she doesn´t kill herself. This theme also appears for Romeo also, in when Romeo gets exiled and goes to Friar and says that without Juliet he doesn't want to live and Friar just tells him to wait so they can figure out a solution to their problem.

SONG MEANING: In this song it’s about a person standing on the ledge (suicide, ready to jump) and how one friend can pull you down off of that ledge and back to solid ground and safety. It is saying that we all need to have that friend that keeps us stable, but we also have to be that friend. In R&J they somewhat have friends that tried to prevent their suicide but at the same time they didn't really stop them from actually going through with it. At the very end of the play Romeo has his friend with him at the graveyard and tell his friend to leave and don't watch or he will kill him even though he knew that he was going to kill himself. Juliet somewhat told the nurse that she was going to end her life because she couldn't be with Romeo and the only person who tries to stop her is Friar but at the end they both kill themselves.
