1940s Computer-The Harvard Mark 1 is Completed

In 1944 Harvard physics professor Howard Aiken made the Harvard Mark 1. This computer is a room sized and relay based calculator. The Harvard Mark 1 produced mathematical tables but was soon replaced by electronic stored-program computers.

1950s Computer-RAND Corporation completes Johnniac computer

In 1953 the Johnniac computer was founded .It was named after John von Neuman a famous mathematician. This computer was used for scientific and engineering calculations. It also expanded and got better through it's 13 year life.

1960s Computer-Olivetti Programma 101 is released

In 1965 the Olivetti Programma 101 was released. This computer was announced a year pior at the New York World's Fair. This computer could do addition to division to solving square roots of numbers. 40,000 of these were sold, even 10 to NASA for use on the Apollo space project.

In 1974 the Alto became a ground breaking computer as nit had a big influence in the computer industry. It had a widows icon, a mouse , could share files, print out documents and it worked with other Altos in a local network. Apple's inspiration came from this computer.

In 1983 the Lisa computer that was inspired by the Alto Xexro was released . Lisa is the first commercial personal computer with a graphical user interface. he Lisa ran on a Motorola 68000 microprocessor and came equipped with 1 MB of RAM, a 12-inch black-and-white monitor, dual 5.25-inch floppy disk drives and a 5 MB “Profile” hard drive.

1990s Computer-Apple ships the first Newton

The J-Phone line would quickly expand but releasing a flip phone later on. The camera on a phone would later be a crucial part for phones.
