  • I wanted to mic a cab rather than just plugging the guitar into the D.I. as this is something I have never done before, I wanted to compare the sounds, and try a new skill. 
  • We started by using an AKG C1000s. This is a small diaphragm condenser that the studio had available for us to use. As I was hoping to capture a very clean sound, a condenser seemed like the most appropriate option. We placed the mic at the centre of the cap for a bright clean sound.
  • Unfortunately neither of us or the studio had a splitter available to track D.I. at the same time as the microphone. In hindsight this would have been very useful but at this stage it was about making do with what we had access to.

  • Improved drum sounds, I used different hits (more hats less snares) from the same drum sampler and edited them shorter to cut out any 'clips' at the end of the samples.
  • Hand claps (Stock sample I will replace)
  • More 'vibe effects' on the prechorus. Experimenting with risers and reverb/tremolo effects
