During the interview she responded to the questions as such. The American dream to her is to live with the freedoms America has given us, and her dream when she was younger was to become a teacher. Her American Dream was to raise kids who could be successful and happy adults, her biggest influence on her dreams were her parents mainly. Her dream has come true, because she has a family who she can be proud of and her life turned out in a good way. This matches my thesis because it talks about how only a few amount of people still believe in it, but many don't, I think that the American Dream can only be achieved if you believe in it, if you push yourself hard enough to succeed you will prevail. For example, "According to a survey of over 14,000 Americans, 37% of the population believe the American dream is less attainable than it used to be" (MH Contributor). People are still believing that the dream is still alive, but it isn't as easy as before, there are many more challenges along the way. Also, "Secondly, it is often argued there are more deep-rooted issues like race, gender, and class discrepancies. Historically speaking at least, it is considerably easier for a white, middle-class man to achieve the American dream than someone from a typically poorer class and different ethnicity/gender"(MH Contributor). Many people can't overcome some of there problems, also people are judged based on their appearance and ethnicity, there isn't much they can do about that, they can't change people's minds enitrely.

They are saying that the American Dream is alive, they say that as long as you work hard and set goals you will be able to achieve your dreams. There will be challenges and there will be times that you feel like giving up, but there are people willing to help you if you seek it, you can do something about it. Also, people may not accept who you are because of who you are, there are problems that can't be solved sometimes, there are problems you will just have to avoid and go straight through them. In my opinion, not everyone has a chance, but a lot of people still will try and some may find another dream that is achievable to them.
