Music was the place where I found my voice, where I learned how to persevere, collaborate, and to communicate with words & music. I belief in the value of music education is why I’m making this life change to teaching music. Ultimately, I want my students to have the same opportunities I enjoyed: to feel seen, to connect to something bigger than themselves, and to discover what they’re capable of through creativity.

It was surprising to see how often the arts are cut, even though they clearly support student growth. The video made me realize how important it is to stand up for the value of the arts in education.
