This is not effective as the problem could have been solved before the effects of the policy could be seen. LRAS may not increase in the short run, not solving economic slowdown.

B) Due to the lingering "credit slowdown", banks are able to lend less to people, and "there is lack of confidence among buyers and in general among corporates". This will result in less consumption as consumers will save more now due to expectations of poor economy in the future. Due to higher savings, there will be disequilibrium as there is higher withdrawals than injections in the economy. This signals weaker demand for goods and services, resulting in firms decreasing their production of goods and services. With less output produced , less fop would be employed by firms, resulting in lower factor incomes to households in forms of wages, interest , rent and profits. The fall in income results in a fall in savings, taxespaid to govt and imports. Withdrawals fall until W=J at a lower level of rny. Extent of

Thesis: Would be successful for developed countries
In developed countries, from extract 5, there has been a "substantial increase in green investment". This is a part of investment causing AD to increase. There would be a multiplied increase in RNY, leading to AEG.
Since technological advances, LRAS shift right leading to increase in productive capacity, leading to PEG.
Example Singapore does not have natural resources and mostly relies on fossil fuels to run our power grid. By investing in green energy, SG can reduce its reliance on fossil fuel thus will reduce the impact on the future generations.
This will increase the likelihood of green investments being successful in attaining sustainable growth in developed economies.

Anti-thesis: Not successful for developing countries

In developing countries, where there is still a need to "expand the electricity supply and reduce fossil fuel intensity". In such economies, due to their lack in technology, it is highly unlikely that they will be not be very successful in attaining sustainable growth. However if they are able to "invite foreign direct investments", this would increase their AD, causing AEG. With the promotion of "farm research and development to increase local farms' usage of environmental inventions".This would cause a decrease in the cost of production, causing SRAS to increase. This will lead to an increase in AD and and eventual increase in LRAS. These countries might not be able to get such investments thus the likelihood of green investments being successful in attaining sustainable growth in developing countries is slim.

Sustainable is sustained economic growth without creating other significant economic issues.
Green Investment is unlikely to be successful in attaining sustainable growth in different economies due to its benefits are in the long term but some countries prioritise in the short term. Extract 5 states that changing to a low carbon sustainable approach to growth could lead to an economic boost of 26 trillion up to 2030 and create 65 million new jobs. However, many developing nations are facing issues that require government expenditure now such as recession or hyperinflation. This means that developing countries are likely to face huge issues in the time that it would require to reap the rewards of this investment. Other issues can appear, like the government being voted out and the opposition party reversing the previous measures.

A) Gdp growth of 5 largest economies in the world is generally decreasing from 2016-2019. When there is smaller GDP growth can mean a slow economic growth which can bring about undesirable effects such as global recession
